It is sad to see the hemi go but the inline 6 was the best motor Dodge ever made before they took it away because they weren't making enough money. What's really done it though for dropping the hemi is they're pushing these electric vehicles but they don't see that it a short-term solution to a long-term problem because electric cars take longer to degrade than a gas motor would and you have to wait 10 to 12 years for the batteries to die and an electric vehicle let alone driving people's electric bills up and more money out just to charge. So in the end it's just making the situation worse

Not really. Inline 6 are great options for a pickup.

Kawasaki Motorcycles just released a motorcycle that will operate the same way. Might be a little loss going from a gas engine to a generator to electric motors. But may not be any different than going through a transmission and differentials. Also a lot less complexity in the total drivetrain. We will not be due for a new car in three years or so. I would be looking at one of these setups at that time.

They refreshed mid cycle, just like Ford and GM do. RAM added some features and made some minor changes. Again, just like Ford and GM always does. Ford and GM's refresh were a bit heavier, but that's because RAM blew them out of the water in 2019. You seem to have your refresh and cycles mixed up.

Ram is the prettiest truck, but sits on the lots. If Stellantis wants to sell in the US they need to grasp what we like. The big grille and masculine styling died with the Ram classic.

Well the pentastar engine is just a generator basicaly, won't have to carry the weight of the truck just produce electricity , i bet the engine won't drink more than 2 gallons every 100 miles so it makes the claim of 680 miles totaly credible .@@doublebackagain4311

Likely max amperage would be 50, similar to RV's, so you'll want to be selective on what you power. You'll need an extra panel like a automatic backup generator. If you don't, having the AC and refrigerator kick on will blow the breaker. You'll want that engine in the winter to heat the cab and batteries.

You got alot of power with an electric engine it doesn't take time to build power 10rpm or 9000rpm its always the same power .

The plug and gas version is like 660hp and 620 of torque its gonna drag any 6.4 like a rag doll !

It's gonna weigh too much. Don't want To take that onto a muddy worksite. Unless you're gonna dig footings with it.

@@michaelbuteau4183 As if an HD doesn't weight much. HA. Base curb weight of an HD is around 7,500 lbs, but you'll never find one that light in the field. I doubt any of the new 1/2 ton RAMS will outdo an HD much if at all.

Why? With this new inline 6 you'll have much better torque curve (up earlier, up longer...), more torque and HP, faster by 2 seconds or more to 60. I won't miss the Hemi that much at all.

Just keep on watching. Because Stellantis has not yet released the best of what the HO engine has to offer. They have already stated that with the engine forged internal parts, build and make up that this same engine will be capable of over 1000 hp. So I'm telling you right now that Hurricane I-6 will eventually surpass the Hellcat engines in many categories pretty soon.

Mike, I hope you're correct. I hope you're right because if they don't get that hurricane 6 in line with what's already out there Chrysler is going to look very foolish. Going to have egg all over their face because you know they gave up on a 6.2 l. Hellcat supercharged engine and swapped in this 3. L in line 6 and you know maybe over in Europe that oh yeah that's a great idea you know and everybody would be. You know clapping and applying and thinking that's a great idea. But here in America I just don't see that it's going to work. I mean maybe it will but I it's not for me. You know you know too many gadgets. Too much stuff on it too much. I mean for me I like home stuff. I love old stuff. You know. I love rock solid reliability. Go out to hit that key every single time and that thing just fires right up and runs and does what it's supposed to. You know even the hellcat engine is I'm not a big fan of it either. But at least you know it's powerful and turkey and gets the job done. You know we with the hellcat engine. I know what I'm dealing with with the three liter hurricane six that's like yeah, I don't know about that that to me that seems more like a BMW thing than a Mopar Chrysler Dodge Ram thing. What rumors did you hear? The 5.7 hemi is dead as we know it sadly The 6.2 hemi is dead as well. The 6.4 hemi found the in the scatt pack and what not is dead as well. So that leaves the 6.4 hemi found in the ram heavy dutys that's probably the last hemi for the truck lineup
