Doesn't even matter. Tesla still makes the most sense IMO if you're choosing to go with an EV. The supercharger network is just too big of an advantage. All the other charging stations aren't as plentiful and have trash levels of reliability. The EX30 is pretty much the only new car I can get excited over at the moment, though sadly it’ll still likely be a bit out of reach financially when it lands here in Australia…. a used XC40 Recharge by then will likely be a more accessible and attractive option, especially as it retains some hard button controls and a more traditional dash. I do wonder just how much a single knob-button - press to switch between fan speed, temperature and volume - under the screen would have added to the end price though. Having a HUD as an option would have solved the speedo cluster issue easily. Still, the Model 3/Y are amongst the biggest selling cars (not just EVs) at present so clearly people don’t care enough about the ‘all on one screen’ UI to buy something else. I do wish EV makers could come up with AWD models that aren’t top spec models though, just put a 50hp motor on the front wheels and don’t charge 10-20% more for it. I don’t need supercar 0-100kmh times, I just want all four wheels turning when it’s slippery.

And he doesn't even mention that this car is also sold with a dual motor power train, which ironically makes this tiny (actually THE shortest car Volvo has ever made), cheap car, the fastest (accelerating) Volvo car...ever, and that list includes the Polestar cars as well, including the upcoming Polestar 3 and the 4 with its 544 HP power train... Kind of embarrassing for Polestar actually, as they see themselves as "Volvo unleashed", as in Volvo if it were a sporty brand, but get beaten by a "cheap" Volvo car.
@markbartoszek8585

@@tricky86 He does actually mention the dual motor version in the overview. However, I would not compare that to the Polestar. Sure, technically it's faster, but you have to enable performance mode, and that only is enabled if the battery has over 80% charge. That's why there's only a 10 mile range hit with the dual motor. It's not always enabled. I think this car was really meant to be a RWD.

This is going to be a great small crossover for Volvo. Fast and fun to drive with sharp styling and packaging. Yeah giving it a 5 for acceleration is a bit harsh. Sure over 60mph it probably tapers a lot but for people that like to keep their license there's not much more acceleration to be done. In my province, counting the subsidy that this car gets (and that the Mach-E GT doesn't) the AWD EX-30 will be 36k cheaper than a Mach-E GT (41.3k counting taxes).

As a M3SR Tesla owner, I like this lil Volvo!! Perfect daily driver, 0-60 in the low 5s is plenty fast for stop and go city driving, the range is comparable to my car, the "everything in the screen" you get used to, I like the window switch layout and ambient lighting, the keycard is cool (although I wish the phone key would be available from launch, awesome feature), "push brake to start" will make you wonder why there was ever a need to turn a key, and according to the comments it has an excellent sound system. This will probably sell really well here in the US at its rumored price point, and should pull some of the Elon haters off of the fence. Plus it's really nice looking!!

Watching Doug roll around in that chair, I realize just how long we've been around. Doug is getting older, and he's not doing the down-on-one-knee presentation any more. I remember when he first started putting a pad under his knee, and I thought "about time", since his knees were starting to look really banged up from all his reviews. Now, the knees look great, but I've been able to see in the last few reviews that he isn't moving quite as youthfully as when he began, and I was starting to think "maybe a chair would be nice". I'm glad to see he's taking care of himself, but it makes me feel old too, you know? I had to go back and forth a couple of times at 13:20 in order to confirm that it was indeed a zoom that was added post-production and not somebody moving a camera. It was REALLY disconcerting to see a camera crew with a boom mike at the Great GT Race. I was almost starting to worry about Doug selling out. I miss him filming in the parking lot of Sorrento Valley station. It was fun watching the trains go back and forth in the background. Kind of like watching Noodle in the Ford GT (why DOES he sit up facing forward like that so much? It's like he's a hood ornament inside the car). This indoor garage space is neat too, though. And we get to see the A-class in the background.
