I'm not very familiar with Arma 3 aside from co-op mode. What exactly is MilSim Operation. Is it PVP, or PVE?

@@Zacolian It's a Military Simulation. Usually more structured then regular game modes. And it could be PVP or PVE, just depends on who puts it together.

@@ChickentNuglol the idea behind them being calm is that it puts everyone else at ease and it makes doing the job easier, without the constant chaos and screaming and yes she was significantly more dramatic than an infantry guy ive met, any pilot I've talked to and everyone else in my job

@@acannon2700 During my deployment I was under fire quite a few times, and all I can say is, there was a certain amount of enjoyment in ending a threat against my brothers. It was soul crushing to kill another human being, but, that’s what war is.

coming from someone who is a combat veteran, You guys did an outstanding job doing a pilot recovery. for IED's...a 5/25 search wouldve been conducted. Keep up the great work. looks like ill have to get in on the fun.

@shahzeb khan Not really. The Taliban are extremely incapable in a straight up fight. We incurred very few casualties on our side while we wiped out entire enemy forces that ambushed us. It was an extremely one-sided fight. The only threat we faced constantly was IEDs, and even those malfunctioned half the time anyway.

whoever set up this op did a damn good job keeping CAS & ground in mind both. Glad to see CAS actually getting to do quite a bit, seeing as we mostly sit on the floor a lot, both in rotary and fixed-wing.

Using that type of stuff, the wheels, pedals, joystick, etc. They're so fun because it makes you feel like you're actually flying it. Especially for games with VR support and the other support it truly adds to the realism.

Loved the video, its neat with the different perspectives. I do have to say though, who ever was your FAC needs to calm down a bit. Its not good to have someone who gets easily riled up in that position. Ya need a steady mind to handle multiple air assets.

Great group to play with in DCS World is called "DCS For Cool People". They have a discord. Make their own missions and are a super friendly group for all types.

Ive been watching for a long time @OperatorDrewski but have never commented before, I served 8 years as a combat engineer, ran a section, deployed, had finds etc. That young person's comms made this one hard to watch for me, the swearing and at times near panic.. Just young, having a good time playing Arma, and I love that. I find my self conflicted between understanding this is a game, knowing this is a Milsim group, and knowing for sure I would have received less than friendly remarks if I conducted myself in such a manner over the radio on exercise let alone operations. If its authenticity the group seeks, I would look for a way to put this young persons enthusiasm to work, teach how the real thing is said and done, see if they seek to emulate that discipline and increase the immersion for the group. Still I saw it through and enjoyed another great video, liked, subscribed, looking forward to the next one mate.

Dude, just grab the base game on a steam sale, it is worth it and you can totally play the campaign as a solo casual player. Even some multiplayer modes like king of the hill servers are nice to play casually. Give it a go man, you won't regret it. :)

CathFawr, she is/was war thunder streamer/milsim/ now GTAV-O mainly (she plays a cop if you can believe that). Her personality is very much the "I'm always right, You're an idiot" type.

@@lj362 I wouldn't say this, I would just say she broke RP consistently and it ruined the experience, her comms with Drew weren't great either. It's nothing to do with her being a woman etc. I just thought the style of RP didn't fit ARMA, maybe GTAV RP 😂

@@j05h885 I'd love to say otherwise, but my own gaming experience with women always comes down to them having to overcompensate when they are in a lobby/setting full of men, it gets pretty annoying tbh. And whats worse is that not a single man is willing to call them out for it like they would if another man behaved like that because of the world's current political climate and men treading on thin ice for everything they say and do.

Love these ARMA milsim vids, awesome weapon to target matching by Drewski, doesn’t matter what the ground c/s asks for if the pilot or weapons op will always select the appropriate weapon, if guns are best , then guns it’ll be. Also as a British army vet the only thing I’m not a fan of is the lack of net (comms) discipline, waaay too excited, stepping on each other and swearing. I’m not a prude just better to best keep calm cool and no unnecessary words or messages, shit flows a lot smoother that way.

I've seen a lot about anvil being a pretty mediocre leader there. And i agree, mainly for disruptive comms, when she wouldn't allow another to transmit through before responding, very excessive foul language, though thats less of an issue than the latter, and a lack of awareness to surroundings

They will probably have this version of the A-10 in real life at some point. Arma literally tests military prototypes.

the fact that the NGSW program uses almost the exact same looking bullpups and caseless ammo along with the same looking MGs from Textron makes me think the devs have some insiders into the military.

@@PandemicGameplay I don't think the NGSWs have been in development as long as ArmA 3 has been, but maybe. it's pretty interesting how they chose an intermediate caliber between 5.56 and 7.62 to be standard AND a gun that looks super similar to the NGSW, though, so who knows

Dropping guided bombs is called by "Paveway" not "Pickle". "Pickle" is for slick unguided bombs.

What doctrine is that from? I've only heard of "Paveway" as a munition. My understanding is "pickle" is used for the release of a bomb (GPS, laser, combo) and "Rifle " is a missle. Never heard of "Paveway".. must be a Navy thing ?

@@Nicebitoftucka it's in the nato multi service brevity codes. It's because it signals something is being dropped and lased. So if you were to use your laser you may cause it to miss.
