Amen. Being a movie buff/ historian, what I miss the most in regards to modern Hollywood is that there isn't the personality of each company. In the old days, it was the MGM musicals, the Warners' anti-Nazi films, the Paramount sophistication, the RKO Astaire-Rogers musicals, the Fox social dramas of the 1940s, the Columbia screwball comedies, the Universal horror classics. Now, everybody is buying out each other and they're all trying to out-bang and out-boom each other.

I had the weirdest feeling of dread with "Force Awakens," knowing that Disney bought the franchise and wondering how they'd replace an opening like this and then... Silent Lucasfilm logo.... I'm not so sure. Now they can use the Fox logo, but I'm afraid they won't, because they want to separate trademarks and have Star Wars associated only with Lucasfilm However, if someone at Lucasfilm knows the importance of this fanfare associated with Star Wars, they'll ask for a higher up to keep the Fox logo. Other than the removal of “FOX”, the current intro for 20th Century Studios is essentially identical. You still have the golden 3D logo, the searchlights, the same camera angles and the irreplaceable fanfare. Not bad.

I actually saw the empire strikes back in Century 16 (which is the theater) in September. It was for it's 40th anniversary! I wasn't expecting for this logo to come up when we saw it! :D

So, they reused the fanfare from "Revenge of the Sith" for the 3-D release of "The Phantom Menace". In my opinion, the fanfare from "Revenge of the Sith" is the shortest of all the Fox fanfares. Also I hear more of the percussion in it than the other versions.

Watching the Star Wars Doccumentary: "Empire of Dreams", when the day arrived of Star War's Premier, they played the 1977 20th Century Fox intro as the narrator says: "On the Eve of Star War's release, 20th Century Fox, George Lucas, and the cast and crew braced themselves for the worst. One way or another, May 25th, 1977, would be a day they'd never forget." A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

First job at 16. Tower theatre Springfield Mo. Star Wars started out platforming in larger markets before going wide . Our chain opened it in Kansas City exclusive at the flagship Glenwood Theatre in Overland Park KS. Nobody knew what is was early on. It broke the house record in a venue that had broken a lot of records over the years . At least we knew what to expect before we got it a few weeks later! Played it until Christmas.

Strangely interesting how the 1982 VHS changed the logo and music, why was that done? And the other one with the original music but the 1980s FOX logo is kinda weird too

Who knows? However, the recomposition for the VHS release is my least favorite. If I were to make this video, with credit where credit is due, that’s the one I’d exclude. After the fanmade 3D _Phantom Menace_ fanfare would come Xandar Lars Knight’s fanmade fanfare for _The Force Awakens._ In that case, credit would also go to him.

I feel like that theme would be perfect, like in an Alternate Reality, let's say, that they used this theme for a Fantastic Four movie, set in the MCU, and they ended the movie with this theme, with either the Human Torch, flying up into the sky, making a 4 of fire, like he does in the comics and the 2005 movie. Or Mr Fantastic takes a family photo of them, all together, and just as this theme ends, is when he takes the picture, with it saying "The First Family" that'll be epic!
