To restore a 20+ year old full size luxury sedan to as close to its original condition as possible seems like a monumental challenge to me. The last thing I would b thinking about would b to record every step in the process with the sole purpose of sharing all that info with the world, for free! Yet u did that and I respect and appreciate it. Your videos are full of very useful info and tips, many of which I picked up. I'm glad u don't let those trolls ruin your day cuz like u said they are a loud minority. They are cowards and that's all I'm gonna say about that cuz I'm not gonna lower myself to their level. Also, cuz I leave in the USA so I don't want one of these weirdo creeps to go on a shooting rampage cuz his feelings got hurt. Thanks for your videos and stay safe everyone around the world.

I am not trying to fight, just giving you another perspective. Some people watch these video's for ASMR reasons, not because they are in the industry. Those people might be left unsatisfied by filth under the seat rails. I agree this car did not need the seats removed, but if it had been a really dirty car and he'd just left the seats in like that I would have left the video and not subbed. I wouldn't have complained about it in the comments, but that's just my personality. As it turns out this guy has some very satisfying quirks (like the lines in the mats) and extremely high quality video's so I'll see how things go. Subbed for now.

You’re correct about social media! Keyboard warriors know everything 🙄 You’re the best, so anybody criticizing you, needs to check themselves. I use social media to learn. People with no life use it to vent their own failures & shortcomings. Unfortunately, we have to live with these knuckle draggers. Your videos have taught me so much & I appreciate you more than I can express! I’m buying everything you use & I’m learning to be more patient with my financial limitations. My car will be beautiful when I’m finished because of your instruction 🥰

I had no idea that there were such great and informative Automobile Detailing channels on KZfaq! Further, your truly talented and meticulous production ability is in evidence within each video. I am an old... a VERY OLD, Baby Boomer-era Detailer. I retired after running my own automotive, aircraft, RV and boat detailing company, serving America and The Netherlands. Between myself and my great crews, (combining the totals of America and The Netherlands) we would detail an average of 150 to 200-plus cars, trucks/lorries, boats, personal and fleet aircraft.. etc. per day. We worked for both the private sector as well as new and used/occasion RV, aircraft and automobile dealerships... and, although it's quite difficult and tedious work, *I LOVE IT!* Be it an automobile, boat, RV or an aircraft, there is nothing better than taking an old and beaten "Pile" then, carefully and painstakingly transforming it back to it's former true glory..;. indeed, truly one of the more rewarding accomplishments of life. My main "problem" was that I wanted each and every detail job to be PERFECT in every respect! As such, I'd often put far too many hours, often days and 'elbow-grease' into each project. While other detail companies would do a cursory detail, at best, with a dry vac and a smear of wax here and there, I wanted each and every detail project to bring tears of joy to the owners eyes! Pleasing the Customer was my goal, profits although extremely important, weren't the sole objective. Oh well, no businessman is perfect. I have to admit that, no matter how many detailing jobs I have done, and I've done literally thousands, during forty years in the business, I always received a great deal of personal satisfaction out of the end-result of the work. I began detailing cars for an American Ford dealership in the great state of Illinois, way back in the 1960's. That was when cars were more like multicolored aircraft carriers, unlike the mostly compact, chrome-less, plastic computerized creations being manufactured today.. which have their own particular charms, of course. Because of their massive Detroit sheet metal, (as in America, foreign cars weren't as prevalent and constituted about 90% of the market share in those days), it would take anywhere from 45 minutes to well-over an hour to properly buff and finish just the massive hoods/bonnets of a, legitimately "Full-Sized" car alone! (and I mean PROPERLY-BUFF, no wheel-marks or scratches whatsoever, just a deep, lustrous finish) In the early-'80's Ford developed "Ford Automotive Detailer Academy", which I attended and was an almost complete waste of time, as Experience is the best teacher. We didn't use the more complicated and colorful terms as, "Goals for the outcome", or "Full Paint Correction Process", Etc., which although accurate, those terms just weren't used in that era. In Ye Ole Days, a car Detail was simply dubbed as a, "Complete Detail", I.E., Inside & out. But, that was in the 20th century/early-21st, in today's 2020 and beyond market, a Detailer must be savvy in many other areas of the business, like web-marketing as well; as clearly are you. Times and tastes have sure changed since the '60's, when I first began my business, two things which, I'm sure, remain the same are, 1. The goal of doing each and every detail as perfectly as possible and, 2. The toll which your body takes from this truly hard work. OUCH! Okay... I could go on and on about this subject, ad nauseum.. (TOO LATE! lol) but, I think you have suffered enough lol. I look forward to watching all of your videos and seeing just what the modern Detail Engineer's world is like in 2020. It is indeed, a new world! Good luck and may God Bless your efforts! Cheers, from an Old Detailer!

Another excellent contribution from a master detailer. Asa an educator for nigh 40 years, I have found it is often the loudest critics that know the least and don’t even know when to stop speaking. It is yours and a few select others who I have turned to to teach this old dog new tricks as I move into ‘retirement’ and keep myself busy with my second passion - detailing and playing with cars. I hope to have a small boutique offering to supplement my ‘other funds’ where I look after a few select and hopefully repeat clients. So far I have three. Your work inspires me to stick with it and continue improving my own skills and knowledge so I’m not taking twice as long as I should (my current issue). I look forward to part 2 and that oh so back breaking job of paint correction. Keep up the great work and remember when your not learning - your probably not breathing.

The son should have just ordered new carpeted floor mats from Mercedes. They came clean but the soft anti slip foam backing is really crumbling bad which will just continue to soil the actual carpets in the floor boards. A new set would have run just under 200 bucks at the dealership. But the overall detail turned out really great! You’re absolutely right when it comes do it right the first time. These videos continue to be fantastic and full of so many little helpful tips even indirectly. Today I learnt i don't use enough water, on the clean decom/wash stage, period. I do indeed need a snow lance. Now I have just two interior products I've seen working and the option of a cheap steam tool (as I'll rarely use it), to collectively do everything I want when I get to do mine (after I'm satisfied I'm done with the paint correction project), all in one easy to follow process. Ideally I want a small cheap portable extractor but in the Uk I can't find one, only wet vacs. tbh I'm a bit nervous drenching what carpet I do have and scrubbing it as I'm not sure how much a wet vac will actually pull out having never used one before. Seems for $30 at Walmart and the like in the US you can get a cheapo extractor easily but not here. This was great, thank you and very much looking forward to part 2 to see if I can learn anymore from you in addition to that of your chip repair and how to polish tutorials.

djmandrick bissell spot clean pro is a good cheap alternative to a full-on extractor. I’m sure they have distributors in the UK. Small footprint so are great for car carpets and mats. Enough grunt to extract whatever you lay down, just takes a few more passes than the expensive ones.

I mean the level of production on this is at the same level, but I personally prefer the Detail Geek as he has a certain _North Mexico_ charm. His vehicles are also much more dramatically soiled as they are Canadian dailies let's see frequent farm or mud use. Does a lot of large trucks so there's plenty of surface area play with. although this is only but one category of Target vehicle since we're not even getting into the AMMO barn find bracket. Now that isn't to say that I don't enjoy this channel's clinical narration because I find it very educational.

You're right, it is easy to criticize over the internet and people are way more rude than they would be in person. I like watching many detailing content creators and then figure out what works for me and my situation, like they discovered what works for them.

Sandro, you had every right to call out those in your rant. There is an old saying "Jack of All Trades, Master of None". These are the minorities who think they know it all, who criticise professionals such as yourself, no matter what trade the person is in. Totally enjoyed Part 1 which was relaxing to watch.

Excellent video and a most in-depth interior piece of detailing. Can’t wait for part 2, that’s the money shot! Like almost always the older/dirtiest the car the bigger the reward. You mention the "1%", I’ve just got no time for them, to the rest of us enjoy your detailing.

Proud of you Sandro I by no means am a professional car detailer or anything but I like being self sustaining. I went to KZfaq to find guidance on how to go about cleaning my car and came across your videos. Since then I've used what you've shared and have had decent progress on my own car so much so that family and friends notice it and ask me to detail them as well. To me you're top of my list of people to seek guidance from when it comes to this kind of thing so I'm happy that no matter what you're gonna do what you want. This is your channel after all and if people come here they're doing the same thing as me I just wanted to say thanks and appreciate all you do and have done and will continue to do. I've gone back and watched some of your older videos and have seen how far you've come and just wanted to say I'm proud of you bro.

Great work and yes, the internet unfortunately is full of toxic people who think their way is the only way. The reason why we have variety in life is because people chose to do things their own way. I can't imagine a world where everybody does the same thing, why can't the toxic ones not understand that?

Finally someone who doesn’t start washing the dirty snow foam into the paint. A lot of detailers will start using the mit as soon as they snow foam it. Good job rinsing it off first. May I suggest washing windows last after paint. You are just transferring dirt from all the windows to your wash mit then to the paint. Why? Just wash the paint first then finish the glass last. Glass doesn’t get swirl marks, paint does.

Sandro, Well done and thank you for your professional transmission of the wealthy experience. And yes I agree with you 100% the social media 'Pros' probably never detailed a car anyway and think that they are the know all. I am a retired banker (42 years service), but also an avid hobbyist detailer, for the last 30 years. Have detailed all of my own and many friends cars. They included modern/classic/collector and even show cars. I am not pressed for time commercially as I do it for the pure enjoyment(still get paid!!) and no rush jobs. Have attended various courses and am an IDA certified detailer. Have also watched and re-watched PRO you-tube channels like yours and various other professional and successful ones. So it all boils down to having high and meticulous standards for detailing and taking tips from various sources but in the end choosing what one thinks is right and suits their particular business/hobby. So to all the haters in your and others channels, just don't watch and do your own thing. After all everybody does what the hell they want. Thanks again and please keep them coming

Hi Paul, I’ve been looking for courses pre COVIDSAFE-19. Where did you do them? How did you become IDA approved as would be interested in pursuing this but there is no Australian chapter. Thanks

@@indetailcarcaresolutions3770 Hi there. The procedure is that first you become a member of the IDA. then first step is to do the electronic 10 part/section online exams which if successful you become a Certified Detailer. Next step is to attend either a course or if proficient take a hands on practical test and then become a Certified Skills validated Member. I live in Malta in the Med, thus I have to fly to the UK for my SV test part. This had to be postponed due to lockdowns. However I would in your case suggest you contact the IDA and see where is the closest IDA Registered trainer to you. Hope this helps but I suggest again you contact the IDA. Wish you all the best, Paul

20 years ago I bought a Passat estate. The inside was a mess, thanks to the dogs they had. I called a mobile carpet and upholstery cleaner. I was surprised to hear they had never been asked to do a car interior, but they came anyway, head-scratched, and priced it as though it was a couple of sofas. It was amazing how much crud came off those cloth seats. Even they were so amazed, they added 'car interiors' to their adverts. Now, hot extraction seems common, and I've bought a Sealey 'hobby' version myself. I've used all sorts of glass cleaners, until I found Nilco Nilglass. By far the best glass cleaner I've had, and I also use it on new house window installs that have a heat-reflective coating, with no problems. The Merc interior looks pristine.

First thing can I say excellent work!!! With regards to your ‘rant’ I totally agree with what you say, unfortunately this trade is becoming over saturated now with companies disappearing as quick as they appear. Me personally have been in this trade now for 25 years never posted on social media and never will!! As long as the customer is happy with what you have done and they go away with a smile on their face then I’m happy. At the end of the day we ALL learn something different everyday. We all have our own way of doing something, but someone could have a quicker way or different approach to it, now I’m happy to give it a go, if it works happy days if it doesn’t then at least I’ve tried. Unfortunately there will always those people out there that will shout their opinions, their there in any trade, but I just concentrate on what the customer wants and do to the best of my professional ability. Anyway on a positive note keep up the excellent work!!! Regards from 🇬🇧

Greetings from the UK. As a detailer, with 30 years experience, all I can say is that your work is superb! Much thanks for your work 👍

Oh this S Class is beautiful. There's something about this generation of Mercs that tug the heart strings. They're all so timeless and look great today. They represent everything a Mercedes is supposed to be. Classy, elegant, luxurious and well built. I remember the first time I saw each C, E and S of this generation of Mercs. W203 C Class, W211 E Class and W220 S Class.... Best Mercedes of all time.

I've just found your channel and this is the first video I've watched. I LOVE that you use a camera on your head, giving us a first person perspective as you clean. The reason I like this so much is because I used to be a car valeter but my arthritis has progressed to the point I physically can't do it any more. So this is like vicariously detailing my own car! Also, I love the colour of this Merc - it remind some of a dark metallic red available on the Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth.
