21-09 The Gothic and its Revival

Күн бұрынI was going to talk about the nineteenth-century Gothic Revival movement but the more I thought about the word "Gothic" the more my thoughts expanded to cover a wide range of positive and negative meanings. So I have expanded the talk to cover the history of Gothic art and architecture from Gothic cathedrals to Black Sabbath.

Sometimes the KZfaq algorithm works. I’m delighted that this showed up in my recommendations and I’m now subscribed. Forty years ago I studied a bit of art history from Robert Winters who specialized in the history of Arts & Crafts movement and its various manifestations. I’m liking forward to the video on that topic, but I’m enjoying this video very much as a table setter for that video.
