21 Gun Salute - Biden vs. Trump

Both "President" Biden and President Trump received 21 gun salutes on January 20, 2021. One was "by the book" for a president, the other one, not so much. The United States military does not make mistakes, thus, this was intentional. Message received...

so location and type of mission changes how we fire ( I'm currently in the Presidential Salute Battery) this is considered a wreath mission. so we fire as the president or foreign dignitary enters the cemetery. we fire at 9 second intervals. the goal is for the last round to fire as the motorcade stops at the west steps of the tomb. President biden didn't miss it. he's supposed to be in the motorcade as we fire. then as he exits the cemetery we fire again at the same intervals. reason for there only being 3 guns is in the cemetery no matter the mission we only use 3 cannons. if it's out of the cemetery we can use 3 or 4 guns depending on the mission. also the location that we fire ( red springs) only has room for 3 cannons to begin with. honors were given appropriately for both president biden and former president trump.

So then how do you explain away Trump receiving a 21 gun salute on the 4th ruffle as he arrived at Andrews?

@@madmac40 it's not the same kind of arrival. for andrews we fired once he was at the tarmac. different locations and missions have different sops. it's not all cut and dry. the command team is able to change things so it could change when we fire. it all depends on the ceremony and ect. there's a lot involved with it. if you can find a video of the this years memorial day wreath ceremony you will see we fired for biden as he entered the cemetery. just like we fired for him during the inauguration. that's because it's essentially the same mission ( for PSB at least) our president, foreign presidents/diplomats are fired for as they enter Arlington national cemetery.

@@madmac40 so with that as well in Arlington national cemetery the president or diplomat is able to hear the rounds as they make there way to the tomb. on andrews the president or former president wouldn't be able to hear it. so we may be told to wait to fire. like I said there's a lot involved and there's no conspiracy here. we make sure honors are given as best as possible.

@@madmac40 also with covid had a lot to do on the amount of personal allowed to be at the ceremonies and so on so that caused a lot of issues

@@xXApricotXx1798 so I’m confused..did Biden ONLY receive the 21 gun salute at the wreath laying or did he also get the traditional salute at his inauguration? The wreath laying salute seems to be in order and everything, but the question is whether or not he got the salute at his inauguration. These are two separate events are they not? I don’t understand why we are dragging the wreath laying into the matter unless there wasn’t a traditional salute at the inauguration and the wreath laying salute is being used as cover. So….Was there a 21 gun salute at the inauguration or not?
