If you're running low on space you could also buy 2 extra shelves for the Billy's. Makes it so you have 4 shelves that fit the normal manga like OPM and 4 shelves that fit larger Junji Ito sized manga. It's a fuller/cleaner look w/o the big gaps above the manga.

Where do you throw the extra shelves? I'm planning on getting one and I also plan on getting a load of normal size manga to my collection. Also typing this I realised that there are extra holes on the sides to put the extra shelves onto so I guess I'd put the extras on top since I'll be putting less heavy manga there?

@@epistarter1136 Yeah, shelves go wherever you want. There's a support shelf in the middle that cant be moved, all the others you put where you need. You'll have 3 above the middle shelf and 3 below with the extra 2.

I think you should put your non-english manga in the mini book shelves and the english manga in the big book shelves. Also Love your content always get good recommendations of manga to read in the future and ideas to organize my own manga ☺️❤

Ikea has some metal clips to pin shelfs together, so that there isn't such a gap between your Billy and Corner-Billys. You can find them by the wardrobe section, at least that's where I got them. Manga reorganization or organization videos are always soothing to watch, really like them.

I’d recommend moving the heavy, hardcovers onto the bottom shelves. And move your manga in Chinese/Japanese into that space or onto the two small shelves and move what you put there. The weight of the heavier books being on the bottom will help stabilize the billy shelves since you don’t seem to use the wall mounting parts on top. Might also help with some spacing!!

Also, heavier books tend to bend billy shelves so it's better to keep them lower.

Fits well into my space, I painted the back green. It's very easy to customize just the back if that's something you want to do. I would suggest sanding it first before painting, I got a little impatient. The shelves kzfaq.infoUgkxM8H4CjCb79vzeyvgaFMdzmLm88oVFPMkare pretty small so keep that in mind if you're going to have it horizontal that some books won't fit. I like the snug look that it has. Good small shelf if you don't have much space, but not too small. Simple to put together, though you'll need your own tools, a screwdriver and a mallet/hammer, it's easiest to do with another person.

The sound of books being shelved is so oddly satisfyingly 😆 The set up looks awesome! I also do agree on what another commenter said: putting the non eng in the mini shelves. You might be able to fit them all in there actually. Really love these types of videos, makes me want to get more shelves and reorganize my own collection ❤😆

Been really looking forward to this one, since you hinted it was coming in a couple other videos. Your first IKEA bookshelf video had me going to IKEA first thing the very next day when I watched it. I went with a natural finish skinny billy shelf, which actually has real wood veneer. I was really impressed by that, so good job IKEA! I remember you pointing out the display unit of the 3 skinny billy shelves with the middle one wrapping around the corner, and now you have it! It looks soo good, your manga library. Congratulations!

I literally bought that same corner Billy shelf last month to help me fit and organise my manga. Nice and strong shelf unit, only pain in the butt was getting all the shelves at an equal space. Definitely think going horizontal on the organisation like you said is the to go

Love your new set up! If you can get some scale figures to put on top of the smaller/short shelves it’ll be so beautiful 😍 also i would recommend putting the hardcovers like berserk at the bottom as they’re so heavy. I’m running out of space for my manga in my room too. Hopefully someday I can get an entire room for my collection just like yours!

It's very nice seeing all your manga out and with so much space! This was a very relaxing video and I look forward to the next one! :D I was quite surprised that you didn't put your Japanese/Chinese volumes into the smaller shelves. Personally, I think I would've separated things so all the English volumes are in the bigger shelves- that way you could also end with your heavier hardcovers at the bottom.

If the bookcases are not secured to the wall, you can always put shims underneath the ‘feet’ of the cases. Shims are slanted/angled pieces of wood that will tilt the front of the unit backwards slightly towards the wall, minimizing the likelihood of the unit falling forward onto someone. Although you would have to empty the shelves again to use them, it’s a good option for those that don’t want or can’t secure shelving units to a wall. 😊

In my opinion maybe you should put your two small Billy’s on the left under the window and filling them with your non english mangas. Also it might be cozier if you put your big bookshelf fully on the right like making a reverse L (I don’t know if you see what I mean 😅) and in the middle space between your small shelves and the big ones putting a sofa or something you can sit on and read. Those kind of videos are soooo satisfying to watch but I’m not into separating series or putting them right after the others, maybe adding some space and goodies could be really nice ! This fruits basket perfect edition is so pretty I hope we had the same in France !

The only recomendation i can give you is: buy doors. They keep the space clean and they protect your mangas from being damage from the sun, humidity, etc. They will last longer. Maybe it wont be as "pretty" because you cannot see the covers but on the other hand it gives a clean space or a library space. There are a lot of type of ikea doors that goes to Billy's shelfs and as a manga collector myself, i regret not get them before ;)

i think if you started the collection from the top shelf of the first tall one and went long ways then include the smaller bookcases when you get to the shelves that are on the same level. (i explained that horribly but yh)

I would organize my manga with the first letter of the name for example a manga that starts with the letter A would go first and Z would be last (just an idea that I thought I could share😊

You should see if you like the book app good reads. I use it to catalog all my manga and it is so freaking helpful. I have only had duplicates happen twice in the over a year I have been using it and that is because I had purchased manga in the same day that wasn't yet added to my database. 10/10 recommend! ^.^ Ooo also just a video comp of all the asmr book shelving :3 P.S.- scanning the books in the database takes some time but it could be a cool video if you end up liking it :)

I really enjoyed this video ! One question tho : how do you clean all these mangas and most importantly, at what frequence ? Most of them seems to be brand new and I can’t see even a speck of dust. I can’t imagine how much time it took you to clean all these volumes.
