One time I was at a trampoline park and the locker was slammed shut and it bent the lock so it wouldn't close. I helped the kid out trying to fix it by using my Gerber Shard and bent it back. I've never felt more like a dad in my life.

Dad powers activate! That's awesome man I"m glad you were able to get extra use out of your Shard. Feels good to be able to put your prep to use, doesn't it? Live with Purpose Steez!

Honestly great idea ! Many of the EDC youtubers tell you what to get but not how to implement the tools! This would be a super series !!

THIS! I see it all the time and I'm glad you picked up on it. Sure, buy all the things, but when it comes time to use it appropriately and efficiently, could you? Glad you enjoyed this one, I appreciate it 🙌

If you need to be told how to use the tools you have clearly you didn't need them in the first place.

It's true that excessive carry hurts more than helps, but I always advocate to learn more about the tools you have. I don't claim to be a master with any one tool, and I'm always open to learning new tricks with the same toolset.

@Ron Kwok To strip wire, you need to precut it first, by spinning around couple times to make a notch in plastic. Than pull like you was trying

My p38 can opener does most those tasks. It makes a handy screwdriver and works on Philip’s heads too. It gets used a lot since it is on my keychain. Good video

dude you have to press down the wire with your thumb to the edge and rotate it until the insulation is cut all around before you scrape it to remove the insulation.

Ayo loved the video! I’ve been considering this for a while as a part of my keychain but was wondering if it was too uncomfortable to have all the time inside of my pocket / on a carabiner on my waist? I’m afraid that it would poke me / stab into my side if I were to sit on it at the wrong angle

Glad you enjoyed the vid! I personally keep it in my backpack as a part of a toolkit. Has a lot of uses and comes on clutch when you have it nearby. And honestly under $5 it's doesnt hurt to try. As far as keeping it in your pocket, it's doable but it isn't the most comfy tool to have against the leg, esp in a back pocket lol, hence the backpack carry. Hope this helps!

which part cuts thread? have this shard but think it would pull on a thread too much before making the cut...
@RonKwok
@RonKwok 2 жыл бұрын
It's the V-shaped groove at the head of the tool, same spot you would pry a nail from. I agree, there's a lot of situations where the thread might pull before it cuts and it's important to remember the shard is a super budget multi-tool that's kinda good at a lot of things, but not perfect for any one thing. Hope this helps!

@RonKwok

Definitely worth throwing in the daily bag 👌 the paracord is hi-viz orange from paracord planet on Amazon, and look up 'sliding knot bracelet' on Google for how to create your own 🙌

What type of knot(s) are on the orange loop?
@RonKwok

It’s a sliding knot! Tie two of them on either end of a loop of paracord and you’ve got an adjustable bracelet or band!
