What's a stronger base, a normal pyrrole or imidazole? I'm seeing people on reddit/the internet say it's the imidazole, but wouldn't it be more stable by resonance? They are both aromatic. Thanks

They are correct as it is the imidazole. The lone pair on the nitrogen in pyrrole is part of the aromatic pi system and very stable. But imidazole has 2 nitrogen atoms. The lone pair on 1 is part of the aromatic pi system and is also very stable. But the lone pair on the second nitrogen is in an sp2 hybrid orbital and is NOT part of the aromatic pi system. This lone pair is considerably less stable and more basic. Hope this helps!

I get that a lot - my best souggestion is to slow down the playback to the speed that works best for you. Hope that helps!
