GENIUS CAR LIFEHACKS
We spend a lot of time in our cars and need to know some handy lifehacks to ease life. In this video, you will find a lot of brilliant ideas like what to do with foggy windshield, how to check tires, how to make an inexpensive phone holder and more tips every driver should know.
Let’s start from a perfect DIY anti-rain solution for your car. You will need paraffin and white spirit. Mix some paraffin with white spirit and carefully apply to the car windows using a dry piece of soft clothes. You will totally like the result! This solution improves visibility for the driver on the road.
Toothpaste is an awesome tool to polish cloudy car headlights. Clean headlights using toothpaste and a piece of cloth. Check out how to make DIY smartphone holder for your car that you can make in one minute using only a binder clip and rubber bands. Attach the binder clip to a vent in your car. Wrap the rubber bands around the handle and attach the phone.
If you are crazy about the order, we have a perfect lifehack to keep your car cleaned. Use paper cupcake liners to keep cup holders in your car perfectly clean. Use plastic containers to keep the trunk organized. If you ever got caught with flat tire there is a genius solution: get a scissor jack, a drill, and a big circle hook.
Use coins to diagnose tires. Watch our tutorial! There are several popular ways to check your tire tread depth. One easy way is the penny test - insert a penny into your tire's tread groove with Lincoln's head upside down and facing you. If you can see all of Lincoln's head, your tires are fine. If not - you need new tires.

The Jack handle on the end Of a ratchet is a good plan for at home but not many people think of carrying a electric drill for every day use....unless your in a profession that would normally be used. Along the Jack lines a block of wood that is slightly wider than the Jack base should help keep the Jack and ultimately vehicle level.....especially if in softer surfaces like dirt, or possibly uneven pavement.

Radial tires are always rotated front to back from the same side. Especially now with some tires that have a rotation direction symbol and need to be mounted correctly. So you can't put tires that rotate clockwise from the right side ( the passenger side ) to the left side counterclockwise (driver side).

For tire rotation with staggered size tires, usually on sport packages or high end performance vehicles.......the tire rotation is not a traditional rotation as depicted. Usually the rear wheels are the wider and can only be rotated side-side on same axle which obviously makes the same deal with front wheels.

Thank you for putting people in danger. If you have winter tires, they often are tied to a rotational direction due to their profile. So when you change them from front right to rear left you will run them in the wrong direction, which will heat them up due to friction and eventually destroy them. Or at least warn about he rotational direction of tires...

dont rotate youre wheels like shown in this video you can change front to back on the same side but if you cross mount them right front to left rear and vice versa you change the rotation of the tire and that will just increase wear , besides that it can cause the cord layers inside the tires to separate from the rubber in extreme cases and some tires with asymetrical profiles have a direction of rotation to start with some even have a inside and outside marked on the tire you can allso leave them where they are , if they wear unevenly (like a sawtooth pattern or heavy wear on the inside or outside of the tire ) have the car aligned and if there uneven bald patches on the tires have the shocks tested if the steering wheel vibrates have the tires balanced , if the steering still vibrates again have the alignment checked if the fronts wear faster than the rears , just replace the fronts once there worn and the rears at a later date , moving the tires around just makes them wear faster and you have to pay to replace all four tires in one go using the spare tire when replacing wheels is a good one , even when not in use tires dry out if you can find the same tire for the other side use the best of the used tires as a spare and safe some cash

I actually warm up my car, when it's cold, so that I can get... Heat
@marshalllhiepler
@marshalllhiepler 4 жыл бұрын
Don't fret about it. I am a professional mechanic, and I can tell you that the information about warming one's car in cold weather is both wrong, and outdated. It was true with carbureted vehicles, that excess fuel entered the cylinders and could dilute the lubricating oil. But, for decades now, vehicles have been Fuel Injected via computer control, and excessively rich fuel mixtures are a thing of the past. Five to ten minutes of warm-up time (based on ambient temperature) reduces engine wear, and makes a vehicle last longer ... much to the dismay of manufacturers, who want your vehicle to wear quickly so that you will buy a new one sooner.

@marshalllhiepler
@marshalllhiepler 3 жыл бұрын
@@mrabbasi9403 , It is always best to allow the engine to warm up, before driving your vehicle. The optimum amount of "warm up" time, allows the engine to reach "Operating Temperature" before beginning the drive.

For the foggy windshield hack...... Was that the desiccant packs that normally come with electronic or moisture sensitive items? The “DONOT EAT”. Packages? One hack I use whenever interior door trim panEd are removed especially if the work Involves removing the moisture barrier sheet........ same trick asks the windshield but on a much larger scale......Damp Rid packs.....they come usually in cleaning and in some stores laundry aisles. I stuff one sometimes two if i can reach forward and aft and door is long enough. Once the moisture barrier paper is removed it usually requires some sort of adhesive to reinstall to prevent exactly what the paper is designed for. The Damp Rid acts as extra insurance to absorb any moisture that may accommodate in the bottom of the door channel...usually rain or wash water.

I love how you think you need to be looking at your phone while driving. the hack is to have something to hold the phone. Even if you use a GPS that rubber band is not going to obstruct The view on the phone.

My top hack is to use car maintenance software on my computer www.automotivewolf.com to monitor all the maintenance, repairs, expenses, fuel usage, parts etc. It sends a reminder when anything is due and automatically creates a great vehicle maintenance log for you.

Don’t put toothpaste on your headlights. It will make them foggy quicker, catch dust and can be a real pain to remove. What you want to do is sand them down a bit and then polish them (sand it down nicely so you don’t leave any scratches)
