The right 22Mag round out of a rifle approaches 9MM ballistics out of a pistol. Great round!

The .22 Magnum is much, much more than the. 22 LR and in my opinion a perfect survival round. I base it on performance, cartridge weight and cost . Easy to pack in 50 rounds for low cost and effective on deer with proper shot placement (head) . Good out to 50 yards.

All I see is that the 22lr can take down alot of stuff if placement is right , and at 7$ for 50 rounds of stingers , you can’t go wrong

Do NOT be fooled by the small caliber of the .22 Mag. I have personally witnessed several hogs and whitetail deer killed with the .22 Mag. Very deadly especially out of a rifle with a 20 inch barrel.

A reasonable expectation for the demonstrated results. A question worth asking is what round is more readily available? The past Christmas season and the recent ammo shortages made evident that 22lr appeared less scarce than 22WMR. Ask your local dealers. Pure observation at my local W-mart where .22 rifles are sold.

The .22 mag is no joke, I have the Henry .22 mag pump action and it’s taken several coyotes and fox. For a backup, I carry the S&W 351 PD in .22 mag. Great combo, thanks for the video, be well and God bless.

Another comparison is the cost of the ammo. 22 WMR is about 3 times the cost of comparable 22 LR ammunition.

Henry I love your rifles, I believe you could sell a 500 SW and 460 SW with 16 and 20 inch barrels and people would love them.

22 magnum ammo cost about the same as 9mm nowadays. But you can find 22lr ammo for as low as 6¢/rd.

Wife likes her 22LR revolver for protection, and I have loaded it with Stingers. As you saw, the mushroom out so well. Thanks for making me want to take out my Henry's. Lever Action and Pump Action 22;LR;s!

I have seen a 22 magnum take down a 4 foot Kangaroo.

The 22Mag will pretty much cut a squirrel in two.

I like the 22LR Stangers and Mini-Mags. They work much better in my 10/22 then Remington and Aguila. But then my Henry Frontier shoots them with no problems, whereas the 10/22 jams like every 4th or 5th round with those less expensive rounds. I'd like to see a comparison between the CCI and the cheaper rounds.

I don’t have a rifle that shoots 22 mag. I do have a 22lr rifle, I have never had a problem taking coyotes with it. I don’t take shots past 65- 75 yard’s but with high velocity rounds I have never had any problems. I do like those stingers they pack a good little punch.

CCI Maxi’s are thee go to 22 mag round, seems like they impress me every time I shoot them.

Have you tested the Federal punch .22lr? You should compare that to the .22mag

Should have compared the 40 grain Mini Mag for the .22LR. Stinger is known to not be a deep penetrating round

I shoot both ( out of a Henry). Stingers are $10 for 50/ WMR $20 for 50. Half the penatrantion half the price .

There's a big difference between a 22 lr and a 22 stinger round. Stingers are much hotter than normal 22 lr's

Is the Frontier a carbine with a shorter barrel? I have an Evil Roy in 22wmr (a carbine for those unfamiliar with it), and damn, is that thing fun to shoot. Wish Henry made old style western revolvers. Didn’t want to spend a lot, so I got a 9” Rough Rider to match caliber.

22 LR uses a gilded metal washed bullet. The 22 magnum uses jacketed bullets. Cupronickel plated.

Old fart here...For hunting, I use an old Remington 950 that's at least 5 years older than me (I'm 71) and I only use CCI Minimags (40 gr.) or 32 gr. Stingers. I only shoot offhand with iron sights and shoot either 2 or 3 shots at a time...2 shots under 1/2 second apart or 3 shots less than 1 second total (that's how I practice). I only shoot pigs from 50-60 yards, and I've shot a bunch of 'em. Got them all. Most do not move more than 10 feet before dropping (all heart/lung shots, a few through shoulder. Had to finish only two off with shot to back of head. Works for me, well. When I was a kid, my grandfather would put me in the back of a truck close to twilight to get coyotes or wild dogs that went after new born calves (in the spring) If the cattle were in one field, I'd use the .22 to get one at about 50 yards as they were digging under the fence. At that time there was no such thing as hyper velocity and I'd get .22 lr round nose by the brick at Western Auto. For the other field I'd have to use our M1 carbine w/ 105 gr. flat nose as it would be about 100 yards or so and the M1 was quite deadly and accurate at that range. I've gotten a ton of jack rabbits ( we called them swamp rabbits) with Remington Never squirrels as we didn't eat them.

Hear me out, if you switch to soup cans, the 22LR CCR Stinger looks a lot more impressive. I definitely would not want to get hit by that once, let alone 2 or 3 times.

I'm sure the .22 Mag has a place, but am not sure where it is. I wouldn't use it on feral hogs or deer, even with a head shot. Wouldn't be humane, IMO. Maybe on gophers, jackrabbits, and coyotes, but I'd just as soon use a .223 or 5.56mm on these. I think I'll stick with .22 LR for squirrels, rabbits, and inexpensive target shooting.

A much better/fair comparison would have been the 40 gr 22LR Velocitor. The Stinger has and never will be a penetrator. You compared apples to oranges. Very disappointed in your tests.
