The thing about running no gear is that your body becomes disposable. You go down, you have no layers of protection. You're done. Whatever the protective gear could do for you, as much or as little as it'd help, you renounced that. It's a gamble. You fall on your naked knees while skateboarding slowly, you still scrape them badly. You wear knee pads, you just saved yourself pain, recovery and inconvenience. Imagine what protective gear could do for you at over 100 MPH. So much extra pain and trouble avoided.

Crashing at these speeds gear isn't going to help much, but they'll come off a hell of a lot better than no gear. As a Marshall said back on the Isle of Man TT, the gear won't save them, but least it holds all the body parts together....

As a track driver and street driver, i have two things to say: 1. Nice bikes 2. Buy Proper gear.
@Unfiltered.Dopamine2 жыл бұрын
At 200+mph on a bike, gear isn't going to increase your survivability all too much in a wreck. So they choose the weight reduction.
@reesemadere25452 жыл бұрын
Dont matter what gear you wear you go down at 200+ on the street you dead every time
@johnjones59772 жыл бұрын
@@reesemadere2545 true. But his reasoning is BS. Gear does not make you blow around in the wind more.

No shit. Crashing at 200 mph on the street is already slim chances of surviving, but without gear it's almost guaranteed death. I've at shit at around 100 on the street, had a sore shoulder and not a scratch on me anywhere, but I was wearing a 1-piece track suit, track boots and gloves, and a nice helmet. The thought of crashing even at 30 mph with no gloves is fucking awful. I wonder if this guy knows that a proper race suit actually makes you more aero?
