In todays video I try out the RK by King Kutter 6' Tiller and it works great! I finished up a fall food plot and will plant ryegrass and turnips.
I used the RK 37 Compact Tractor with the Tiller

Nice plot Mike. That King Kutter is a great tiller.....I have had one several years but mine is yellow. A buddy just bought one also. Be aware they begin to leak fluid by the bottom bolts on the gear box cover and water gets in there. Mine did after one season and my friend's did after 1/2 of a season. I took my cover off, cleaned it and used some red gasket maker to seal it all up and make it better than new. Been a year since I did that and still looks good. That tiller will serve you well. Nice video.

I'm in Delaware County, NY and I have to tell ya all we have is rocks! So what my friend and I use is an S-tine cultivator with Danish Sweeps to work the soil. It is even too rocky to disc as the discs just bounce over the rocks. You are really fortunate to have rock free soil! That makes things much easier. What are you going to plant? This year we've got turnips (Tall Tine Tubers) and winter rye from a local feed and seed place going.

Great video as always Mike. It's always neat running into wildlife while doing some tractor work. 2 weeks ago I was doing some bush hogging/making trails when I came up on a couple of nice turkeys. They kind of watched me for a bit, then slowly walked off into the thicker wooded area where I was working. They didn't seem "scared" or concerned with me being there which surprised me since as I said before, I was running the bush hog (loud, high RPM). I've also had deer do the same thing as I'm cutting grass on the back part of my property. It's almost like they are used to me being there.

Michael Chastain, not sure what your situation is but I’ll just share that you can do a lot with a lot less tractor. I now have a Mahindra 1533 that I love but before that I had (still have) a Kubota B7200. Its a little 17HP tractor that’s a real work horse. I bought mine used from a rental place for $6k with a loader and a box blade. I later added a backhoe, also used from a rental yard. You can do a lot with a little setup like that for not a lot of money.

Mike, I think you would be happier with a cereal winter rye in your mix rather that a rye grass seed. I have had the same tiller for 8 yrs and have put rocks larger that soft balls through it with no damage. One caution, be careful of wrapping fence wire around the gear side and damaging the gasket, which will leak if damaged.

@motor2of7
@motor2of7 5 жыл бұрын
Tim Griffith, the geometry of the 3-point hitch varies from tractor to tractor. To make attachments non-tractor specific they tend to leave the driveshafts a little long and then the user needs to make it the right length for their specific tractor. It’s pretty common but it can get frustrating. It’s entirely possible that Mike will need different length driveshafts if he wants to use the tiller on the RK37 and Big Red.
