Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb In the shape of an "L" on her forehead Well, the years start coming and they don't stop coming Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running Didn't make sense not to live for fun Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb So much to do, so much to see So what's wrong with taking the back streets? You'll never know if you don't go You'll never shine if you don't glow Hey, now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play Hey, now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid And all that glitters is gold Only shooting stars break the mold It's a cool place and they say it gets colder You're bundled up now wait 'til you get older But the meteor men beg to differ Judging by the hole in the satellite picture The ice we skate is getting pretty thin The water's getting warm so you might as well swim My world's on fire. How about yours? That's the way I like it and I'll never get bored Hey, now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play Hey, now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid And all that glitters is gold Only shooting stars break the mold Go for the moon Go for the moon Go for the moon Go for the moon Hey, now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play Hey, now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid And all that glitters is gold Only shooting stars Somebody once asked could I spare some change for gas I need to get myself away from this place I said yep, what a concept I could use a little fuel myself And we could all use a little change Well, the years start coming and they don't stop coming Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running Didn't make sense not to live for fun Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb So much to do, so much to see So what's wrong with taking the back streets? You'll never know if you don't go You'll never shine if you don't glow Hey, now, you're an all star, get your game on, go play Hey, now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid And all that glitters is gold Only shooting stars break the mold And all that glitters is gold Only shooting stars break the mold

No disrespect, I don’t have kids but I have done research on this. It’s not actually healthy. If it’s done every time the child cries it teaches them that whatever caused them to be upset is insignificant. They sometimes grow up emotionally withdrawn and unable to express emotions properly.

My Dad used to give us pointers on how to look more pitiful and win points. Instead of joining us, he would hold up marks like we were olympic ice skaters and give his opinion on how we measured up against the pro's. When we were very small, we'd fall quiet and stare at him trying to make sense of it all. He did sound absolutely serious and kept a straight face throughout. The joys of having a British father.

@772 Ninja Nah, my Dad would offer his contrafibularities and explain that our gargantuan efforts fell short of being excruciatingly aggravating because we had the pitch but not enough actual tears and hadn't committed our faces to a full bodied grimace. That's only half the job and doesn't measure up to fully pathetic. Apparently we were much more committed to crying as newborns. Newborns know how to be truly pitiful! A newborn commits and absolutely believes with all their heart that they are suffering like no one has suffered before them. And then he was pron to go off onto a rousing speech about how we will always fail to get the responses out of people that we really want so long as we won't fully commit to getting so upset she crap our underwear and physically tremble in distress. Often it would end up with him behind a newspaper and us walking off. I learned pitching a fit when I didn't get what I wanted would inevitably lead to a long talk about how to do it properly.

Though perhaps the biggest problem with finding a solid, reliable partner is that once such people are off the dating scene, they tend to stay that way. If a troll: Generic and uninspired.👎 If a real person: Please don't lump an entire sex together because of a few bad experiences. If it works, it works. @@TheVanillatech [Comment Proceeding taken down?] When I think about the how people perceive any given situation, I have to remind myself that what is heard about and what is pushed to the background as uninteresting is often skewed in favor of 'drama value'. The best example I can think of off the top of my head is the News. So many good things happen everyday, but we remember and sensationalize the bad because it stimulates us- for good or bad. The classic married, two and a half kids and a dog is boring. So much so even those living it don't often expand upon it in detail. That is often why what we read or watch about in social avenues often take on a more negative outlook for the whole of a population than is probably the everyday norm. As for people who go for the 'asshole, abusive' type. Youth, inexperience, codependency, trauma, upbringing, media normalization, mental instability, 'failure to competently play the game', social expectations, peer pressure and/or simple failure to adhear to common sense. I could never list all the reasons anyone would find themselves in such positions. For some, as I was told by a friend years ago, it's just that 'their pickers broken'. Those ones, as you've mentioned, tend to end up with unfavorable individuals because something in them is attracted to it. The point I'm saying is, I don't disagree when you mean 'some' woman like assholes. What I do question is just how many is 'most'. (The reason I wondered if you were a troll or emotionally invested though, is because I stated a personal opinion on what 'I' felt. And 'you' said I was wrong.) [Comment Proceeding taken down?]

@@lindaspill3273 Seriously, I agree with what you're saying and you clearly know what you're talking about BUT it sincerely is MOST. From all walks of life, from the underclass dole girls to the upper class millionaires, given 20 guys in a room they will enter and within 30 minutes have gravitated to the biggest bastard in the room. It's not a joke and it's not me sensationalizing anything. It's something I've observed over the past 30 years. It can't be their upbringing or something that's broken, because it happens with pretty much ANY female. The only counter to it as far as I have seen is intelligence and self awareness, two rare qualities in humans male or female. Take for instance TWO friends of mine, the only two I have that I would call first class cunts (excuse the term, but it's the best word for them). Both are absolute shits, terrors. Start fights with weak guys and expect their friends to back them up automatically (bullies). Seen them spit in girls faces who were asking for money on the street (homeless girls). Both have (and do) throw hands with women, one beat his sister up on a regualr basis for years the other has been arrested three times for beating his girlfriends up. Both are or have been drug dealers and both talk to women like shit most of the time. They are NOT the best looking in our group, they are the most financially vulnerable, least educated too. Guess who scores the most women out of ALL of us? Guess who gets the women coming up to them in bars first? You see my point? Women gravitate to bastards. Always have, always will. Nobody knows why. But they do.

@@TheVanillatech It is true that in certain regions/social groups there can exist a larger than average percentage of less than savory individuals. However, the expectations and life style chosen by one particular group or sub-groups are often not indicative of the entire population sharing correlative traits to that group. When one says 'walks of life' in a personal context, what is usually implied is that they are indicating what they themselves have experienced first hand or through media/gossip. Both of which are limited and flawed in whichever forms their perceivers most adhear to. From what has been said in previous texts, this line of reasoning still applies. It is, however, also compounded by the direct implication of personal experience within a specific group of individuals who have conformed to certain expectations regarding relationships. If this is so, then it may not be that 'most' woman are attracted to assholes. It could very well be an indication that the region and/or social setting in which you've found yourself leans towards that particular method of interpersonal interactions. In short: You need new friends. (On another note though, are you a troll, emotionally invested or just bored enough to engage in non-aggressive but somewhat augmentative conversation with a complete stranger over her choice of men?)

@@veimani Uhhhhhhhh yeah no god/jesus don't do SHIT for anyone, it's the person that is given a chance to live and gets given chances to be the best who they can be, that is what god is all about, giving us chances, but if you want to be a homeless orphan from the start cuz your parents don't want u, good luck having god save you, cuz he sure would've fucked you over by that point already.

okay it's cute now when that little girl is saying "i have a boyfriend" and "shut up" but she's basically learning that disobeying, attitude, and arguing is "cute" and encouraged. that is a parenting fail
