I think it’s a cracking example of what you can go onto achieve through the Army if you want to develop yourself in various ways vs land in a regiment and spend all your days down the local boozer.

I recall Kerry went round FOB's with a digital camera and came back with some dits but critically, some great observations and recommendations for the DRLC. FOB washing machine - a cement mixer and a washing up bowl - just don't forget to take the blades out!

Wish I had Senior ranks and officers to look up to like Kerry. In my 10 year service all I saw were people who would sort the work out and nothing more. All they were doing was looking after themselves and their careers. In the 90s money was scarce for courses so my career finished before it started. My last 2 years I had an amazing 2lt/lt he tried his hardest to keep me in the job and getting me promoted to sgt. Amazingly I’ve heard he is a Brig now looking at getting promoted.

Indeed it is. Para Regt do Inf Basic whereas all Arms do Pre Para as mature soldiers. No point debating whose the hardest but for a grounded opinion as The Para Regt P Coy staff from the 80’s and 90’s what they think. !!!
