Meet Amanda and take a tour of her gorgeous self-built Tiny House, which she built over 2 years with her father on the weekends. In order to afford it, she had to work two jobs, but now she can work part-time and live in a house she built herself without a mortgage.

Obviously not everyone either read or watched the video completely. She built this home with her father's help and guidance. Along with her brother and friends as she states in the video. For a 23 yr old to own and help build their own home is amazing. Especially in today's society. Definitely one proud and happy family. 😊 Congratulations on having such a lovely home. 😍

And Dad seems to be COOL in addition to being a great builder. You’re blessed to have such a beautiful home and to build it with your dad, Priceless!! Whoever started the Tiny house movement was such a BRILLIANT idea. I can’t imagine where the country would be if we were all still trying to achieve the pretty much UNATTAINABLE American dream home. And then these homes can be moved is awesome, and the footprint on the planet is much better!! ✌🏼Congrats!

@@joshlynkaufman8653 Any kid that's her age that worked a job through high school and college and had the foresight and commitment to be up for building and owning her own house at such an early age is remarkable. So many kids just want to party and buy things, living off credit, having loads of debt and never getting ahead. Instead this young woman had a dream and worked hard to make it a reality. Her dad didn't "do it for her," he did it WITH her. Yes she has an amazing support system, but she had to generate the commitment, she funded it, and she worked her jobs and built her own house apprenticing with her dad who knew how to build and so could both teach and help her. Like any loving parent, her dad was undoubtedly thrilled that she wanted to do this and thrilled to be able to help her do it. He must be incredibly proud of her, and the two years of closeness and collaboration no doubt deepened their relationship tremendously. Now he knows that just out of college his daughter owns her own house and is able to live a great life far more frugally than she otherwise would have. SHE OWNS HER OWN HOUSE FREE AND CLEAR...AT 21!!! And she can move it to wherever her life takes her! This is a seriously MASSIVE ACCOMPLISHMENT!!! Lots of kids continue to live with their parents going through college in order to make it affordable or even possible. My husband did that growing up. In fact so did his 5 siblings! Neither of his parents went to college. His mom only got through the 8th grade and his dad through high school, but all 6 of their kids got college degrees and several got advanced degrees, all while still living at home. In exchange, they worked hard in their studies and helped their parents run their farm and house, and when their folk got old, they lovingly took care of them at home to the end of their days. What's wrong with families helping one another like this??? Does this make them "privileged" or just loving supportive families who look after their own? Now days the cost of a college education is absolutely ridiculous! Kids are graduating with basically a mortgage payment before they even get a job in their profession! As a parent I would do anything to help my children succeed and get a good start in their lives, and wouldn't begrudge having them continue to live at home as long as they were working hard at a job whilst studying seriously to get their college degree. What parent wouldn't try to do that for their hard working child if they could? The loving, supportive, energy of this entire family is inspiring and commendable. How sad that you would see this the way that you do...and squash her beautiful accomplishment with your cynical, invalidating comments. I sincerely wish you well.

Indeed. It's always mystifying to me that so many people seem jealous of people who have supportive families, as if that should disqualify them. Who ever heard of a rule that all tiny homes must not exceed a certain size, or price, and must be built or installed with no help from anyone else? It's so lovely to see people helping people.

Privilege??! With her DRIVE, this girl could probably be President one day! Privilege has nothing to do with it.
@ec9833
@ec9833 Жыл бұрын
@@silverfoxsmith8582 uh…she did indeed do all of that…and she acknowledged what, apparently, you’re not seeing. Which is commendable, on her. Certainly wasn’t a slight on her…unless you think that, actually acknowledging the blessings you have, that you didn’t do anything to gain, like IDunno, being born into a loving stable home, living in a equitably prosperous area, having college paid for (as random examples). Didn’t she have help in this? Maybe even a leg up? Anything that gave you platform from which to do great things, that you simply find available to you and did nothing yourself, to create or earn, is…what? I mean, privilège is a word. I didn’t create it. But hey…you ever think that your god works in mysterious ways? Maybe they give you some lessons to learn that, IDunno…you might not recognize right off? For instance…why are you so defensive over someone commending another human for expressing humility? Does your god not promote that? And, I mean, “god given”…did she give those things to herself or…I’m confused. Anyway…maybe check out why you’re defensive, inside a situation that literally expresses nothing but positive & certainly nothing negative that affects YOU.

@@chezmoi42 100%. I really love that she acknowledged those things that helped her achieve her dreams. It’s beautiful to have support, community & security. I wish everyone to have that. It’s just a beautiful thing, too and a beautiful example, to acknowledge those things. It may even influence ppl to take a look at the privileges they’ve been graced with, more & maybe even move them to contribute to others, in kind. Which…that’s the ultimate beautiful thing IMO.
@ec9833
@ec9833 Жыл бұрын
So we shouldn’t promote gratitude and humility for fear of a thoughtless judgment of jealousy? Are you under the impression that you got where you are, today, all by yourself?? I’m sure it’s mystifying to you that SO MANY PEOPLE seem jealous…anything is mystifying when you haven’t done anything to demystify it and instead, just sit there, with your mystery, judging others as though you aren’t mystified at all. So many people…they’re all jealous. Fuck promoting good human qualities. They’re wasted, apparently, as SO MANY PEOPLE are SO OBLIVIOUS and far too busy being suspended in the mystery of what they refuse to learn. IME…those people are only blinded by and to their privilège. Comfy place when you don’t have to think of anyone other than yourself. Jezuz Christ…

This is so wonderful (and admirable) for a young person, so huge kudos to her. Having one's own home at such a young age is an incredible feat. And I'm sure it will be a great home for decades to come -- think of the money saved over that time! I love the look of the exterior, and re: the interior main floor; great use of space. BUT, I'm 76 years old -- and at my age this would be far from ideal. THE number one thing I would really hate is climbing a ladder to go to bed in a sleeping loft and then having to crawl on hands and knees to get into bed. And then at 2:30am have to crawl back down a ladder in darkness to answer nature's call. So, my point is this -- yes, this is a practical and wonderful solution to housing for a younger person, but for an older person like me? -- absolutely NOT! I want to add that I've seen really clever alternative solutions to sleeping lofts -- beds suspended above large living spaces (living rooms for example) and lowered only at bed time. Makes getting into bed much easier, it makes making the bed much easier, and getting out of bed to answer nature's call much easier - because everything is on the main floor -- there's no ladder to climb up and down in the dark. So WHY would anyone continue to promote sleeping lofts that limit your movement?! (I figure its gotta be someone who makes tiny homes that feature 'sleeping lofts'. Sorry, sitting cross-legged on the floor in front of one's closet because there isn't room to stand up is NOT a major selling point for me.

I agree on th sleeping loft or loft areas are not for m either, but I have viewed other tiny home plans, and I’m this one I’m not a fan of a microven been at the bottom and not a washer: dryer combo in the tiny bathroom room either; I would of charge that, as fo my self being in my 60’s , important for mobility of ladder climbing not for me either:(/...otherwise al is beautiful design, and makes me want to built own tiny home 🏡,♥️💫💫💫She is truly blessed to have family support an her dad to helping,Amazing; I would of loved to have done that ♥️💝Congrats on yo new tiny home,Enjoy!🥰

Meant change ( not charge), the bathroom plan, don’t like being crowded in small space uses, and just to much for me; of a microven being on where she had install , no thanks.:(
