This is the up-to-date version of the continuing saga of my mobile field office, MoFO. As detailed in The MoFO Story, my mobile field office (MoFO) is a true class A motorhome, designed for off grid working & living, with the ability to reach the most remote and beautiful locations using the latest in overland, and off-road travel technology.
MoFO is based on a Pre 2008 Freightliner, MT-45 medium duty truck chassis, with a Cummins 24 valve 5.9 L six cylinder diesel, mated to a five speed Allison 1000 transmission. My research indicates this vehicle is the pinnacle of the diesel powered medium duty trucks; unfortunately in 2008 clean diesel regulations effectively eliminated diesel power from this class of vehicle. Overlanding vehicles that are traveling the world must be compatible with high sulfur diesel.
This is the truck that made FedEx billions and billions of dollars! There are thousands and thousands of high mileage examples of this truck in the marketplace. We wish to recycle these high mileage vehicles by completely manufacturing them from top to bottom, and outfitting them with 4 Wheel Drive drivetrains for a multitude of different customers.
