Then fast-forward on the night before the Lamb was to be sacrificed, which happened to be the exact day as the Jewish Passover, Jesus gave us “Mana” from Heaven, which happened to be “Bread”, which IS the Flesh of the Lamb, to be Spiritually Fed! And that same exact Man... Who walked on water, rose the dead, calmed the seas, healed the sick, and rose from the dead himself - > When He says - > "This IS MY BODY"..."THIS IS MY BLOOD"..I THINK HE MEANS IT! Way more than “symbolism”!! #Catholic

'Ecology' which tells us of the interrelationship of all nature may help you. God does not destroy nature but perfects it. "If I am lifted up, I will draw all things to myself." Once inserted into our world, Jesus is a part of all the world, especially linked to each human being. In Jn 1:9, Jesus speaks to everyone. Christians, Muslims, Hindus, atheists...we all to some degree hear his voice. If we embrace the Truth in Love we are 'in Christ & He in Us'. This is JUSTIFICATION & Salvation!

he problem here is that we are trying to fit a twenty-first-century meaning into a first-century usage. So today, let us clear up the mystery of the word ‘mystery’ in the New Testament. To do that, we simply need to turn to the first thirteen verses of the third chapter of Ephesians, in which Paul talks about the ‘mystery.’
@Vastar7
@Vastar7 11 жыл бұрын
Thank you for helping me find the scripture reference. It actually sent me looking back earlier in Ephesians to see what Paul was referencing that he had already said. I found it in 1:8b-10. So it seems like the 'mystery' is God's will and how it could be God's will for Jesus to do all that he did. I guess it'd be confusing to phrase that every time we take Communion, but that's a much better mystery than the fact-like statements we presently recite.

Hey Chuck it's original name is Holy Eucharist also know as the Mass, Divine Liturgy. From the beginning the Jewish Christians believed that in communion they partook of Christ (story of the road to Emmaus in Luke). From the mid-second century it also became the church's sacrifice by which the congregation offer themselves to God in union with Christ with the very same sacrifice he offered once for all - and here ask you to accept this our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving with these your holy gifts which we not offer (or present) to you the memorial you Son has taught us to make, and to accept us also as living sacrifices to you (from Paul). Unite us to your Son in his sacrifice. It is Yom Kippur and Passover in one liturgy (service or ministry).This is the believe of Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Anglican and many Lutherans. It is not a mere memorial. the Greek word anamnesis means more than remembrance, it means recalling to presence. Baptists and other Protestants see communion as memorial, a stimulus to thanksgiving and a confirmation of a faith already held. The other do not: it is what it is described above. Chuck rejects or does not know the doctrine of the Church for almost 2000 years. It's sincere but watered down.

God told Abraham to "Sacrifice his only son" and suddenly a "Lamb" appeared... God came and physically fed His children "Mana" which means "Bread" from heaven... During the Jewish rite of Passover, all Jews had to "Eat the flesh of the Lamb" to be saved from death... An exact year before Jesus died and gave us Himself in the Eucharist, He gave us the John Ch. 6 "Bread of Life" where he said whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood I reside in him and he in Me and says “I am the Bread of Life”.

I enjoy your explanations...if I may add - isn't Holy Communion also for the forgiveness of sins? Matthew 26:27 27 - Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the[a] covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

I still want to know why "Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again" is the mystery of faith. It seems like that part is the straightforward part of faith. The whole somehow-redeeming-everybody part is significantly more mysterious. So why do we say that?

The Lords Supper is the fulfillment of the Lords Passover Supper. For Christ Jesus our Passover lamb has been sacrificed for us.1 Corinthians 5:7. There is only one perfect sacrifice and one continuous celebration Supper until Jesus returns in glory . We get the same results as Israel got when they ate the Passover lamb and applied the blood ( cup) Not one person was weak or feeble among the whole tribe psalm 105:37. The Lord Jesus our high Priest forever prepares His table with Passover bread and wine. Jesus our Great High Priest forever blesses the bread and cup and declares this is His body given for us and His blood of the new covenant shed for us. We have a video on our KZfaq channel participate with me in the Lords Supper by Sean Rath.

First off no, you pray over the bread and break it THEN pray over the wine and drink alittle bit from ONE CUP not shot glasses or anything like that. You also wash anothers feet too (not EACH OTHERS) that is how it is said in the bible and should be held the same way.

After having been raised a Roman Catholic and away from the church for years, I am in the process of deciding which Christian denomination is the closest to my own beliefs. There is much that I like about United Methodism (especially its emphasis on social justice), but one thing I don't understand is why the Lord's Supper (or Holy Communion) is not celebrated on a weekly basis. To me, it is an important part of the Service which provides inner strength through participation, simply because it reminds a Christian of Christ's sacrifice. United Methodists celebrate it on a monthly basis, usually the first Sunday of the month. There are other Protestant churches that do the same, whereas the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Episcopalian, Disciples of Christ and most Lutheran churches celebrate it on a weekly basis. Does anyone know why this difference occurs ? I would appreciate any thought out explanation. Thanks in advance.

Robert Bykowski remember your faith and that we celebrate the Holy Eucharist daily! Jesus doesn’t come to us weekly or monthly but on a daily and constant basis. Mass is celebrated everywhere at all hours of the day in communion with saints in heaven and on the earth. Don’t forget that when you think about what fits your beliefs...

Catholics celebrate every hour of every day across the world. Jesus is ever present at all times in the Eucharist so we are never without Him. Other churches either don’t have Him at all or they bring in a symbolic sense of Christ into the congregation once a week or once a month. I’m so glad that I can find Him everyday instead of once in a while...that’s why I’m always going to be a Catholic.

Dipping bread in sop was normal when eating. Breads were very dry and having it with oil, soup, broth, stews, or wine was not unusual to dip. Jesus mentioned who he would dip with in that moment was to answer the disciple's question. Partaking of the bread and wine to remember Jesus and what he did for us is the most important thing, not whether it's fashionable to dip or not because of what a traitor did.

The Churches did not have a fixed idea to describe the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist for 1000 years. The RC Church selected Transubstantiation which the Orthodox reject because it uses Aristotle to try to explain a mystery. They prefer Trans-elementation So RC, under the appearance of bread and wine, Orthodox, in and with both are doctrines of change in the elements; Lutheran, in with and under called Sacramental Union; reformed, real presence but after a spiritual manner; Anglicans, real presence but no definition, but some like Reformed others like the RC, Orthodox and one partakes of the whole Christ (Anglicans don't like crude physicality) and then memorialists who say he isn't, he's in your head as a memory. One can believe in all the theories of the real presence as long as one remembers the eucharist is extrinsic to Christ and not intrinsic as are bodily organs. As St. Thomas wrote, "In the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist Christ's body is not to be understood in crudely physical terms (materialiter) nor as confined to a space (localiter). So, not matter what anyone thinks you ain't gettin your own little Jesus in a wafer or a piece of bread. But you are partaking of Him after the manner of a sacrament. For those who want to know, it's easy to find good, impartial explanations of this Divine Mystery.

Fans of Chuck Knows Church -- We want to be clear: The United Methodist Book of Worship says, "Although the historic and ecumenical Christian practice has been to use wine, the use of unfermented grape juice by The United Methodist Church and its predecessors since the late nineteenth century expresses pastoral concern for recovering alcoholics, enables the participation of children and youth, and supports the church's witness of abstinence." ChuckKnowsChurch that’s because you don’t believe in the consecration of the wine to turn into “the blood of the new covenant...” because if you did then it would no longer be an issue...so you’re passing on a disbelief in the body and blood of Jesus Christ. May God have mercy on your soul and for the souls that are being led astray from the truth!

When Christ said "This do in remembrance of me", he was referring to the Passover. Not a regular occurring event, but a once per year event. Also, your final statement, "If you have any questions, ask your pastor" is dangerous. Why not just say, "go into Gods word, read it, and do it." I care not what a man says.

Act 17:10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who arriving went into the synagogue of the Jews. Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. 2Ti_2:15 Study to shew yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

+Ken Allen (Doctrine and Stuff) Acts 2:42 "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Ephesians 4:11 "So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers," 1 Corinthians 12: 27-28 "Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers" nehemiah 8:5-8 "And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people, for he was standing above all the people; and when he opened it, all the people stood up. Then Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God, and all the people answered, ‘Amen, Amen’, lifting up their hands. Then they bowed their heads and worshipped the Lord with their faces to the ground. Also Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, the Levites, helped the people to understand the law, while the people remained in their places. Communion or Sacrifice? The Christian practice of communion has many people confused including most Christians. When we asked many Christians what the meaning of communion is, the answers were very broad, and though not wrong, were only illuminating at best. (Illumination: False light) Jesus shed flesh and blood for our sins so that we may have everlasting life. Well yes, that is part of the answer. It's illuminating. But it is not the light of day. Let's look at how an outsider looks at the practice of Christian communion. The bread of life, eating the flesh of Jesus. This is seen cannibalism. (Werewolf's). Drinking the wine that is the blood of Jesus. Vampire-ism. Now before we shed the light of day on the matter, let's look at why secret societies, Luciferian, Satanists, other cults, new age practitioner and what atheists attempt. The ideal that is so inviting and their absolute strongest attribute is none other than their ability to attract and build strong brotherhood's (Sisterhoods not excluded for those who demand political correctness), ties that are incredibly strong and nearly impossible to break. Why do cults get this right yet the Christian Churches get this so wrong? Now the secret of what the Christian communion is really meant to convey, it's so simple that it was designed for even the simplest of minds to comprehend, it's a reminder that we are all of one flesh and blood and are one giant brotherhood, (sisterhood included) and one giant human family. Until Christians come to understand this and put it into practice, failures will continue unabated. Religion is meant to unify. Satan is the great divider. Houses divided are easier to conquer. Proudly written and posted by a monkey. Never argue with a monkey, it just makes you look stupid.

1. The Church doesn't believe the Eucharist is magic in any way, shape, or form. Magic is man-made trickery derived from allusion, or if it's real, demonic intervention. However, the Power of the Sovereign Maker isn't magic. The Lord Jesus said the bread was His body and the wine was His blood, so we believe His word. 2. Bronze Age? Yikes, not even close. That age lasted about 3300 BCE to 1200 BCE, whereas Jesus of Nazareth walked the Earth from about 4 BCE to 33 CE. 3. I take it seriously because my Lord Jesus took it seriously. You skeptics believe yourselves superior, yet this is how you act? Like an immature child. May God soften your heart, wherever you be now.
