In video I’m preparing to travel to Laos from Hanoi for a visa run by bus. It takes approximately 24 hours to travel from Hanoi to Vientiane the capital of Laos 🇱🇦.
Online Laos Visa: laoevisa.gov.la/index.
Off-Line: Please search for Laos embassy or consulate in your country.
Embassy in Hanoi is located at ( 40 P. Quang Trung, Trần Hưng Đạo, Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội, Vietnam 🇻🇳)
Visa at the embassy range from 35-50$ depending on your country.
You need to take 2 passport sized photos and payment is done on pickup the next day. You can pay in USD or VND rate converted at 22.000 vnd per usd.

It was kind and useful of you to make this video, explaining how to get from Hanoi to Vientiente, how to contact the agent to get the best price, etc. It is worth noting that Vietnam charges people leaving the country via land a 50.000 VND 'stamping fee,' and that Laos charges tourists an 8,000 Kip fee upon arrival. If you don't have both currencies on hand when it comes time to pay up, you're going to have a hard time - even if you already have all the relevant visas in your passport.

Hi, I am planning a holiday trip to Vietnam but would love to visit Laos too while I am there. As a Nigerian passport holder do you know if I can obtain a Laos tourist / border visa while in Vietnam? I live in Spain and there is no Laos Consulate here. Thanks so much for your video.

I'm so sorry for the delay in response, Yes its totally possible. You can go at about 4pm. They have a bus leaving everyday.

Hi , I am from India ... The eVisa site shows only 6 border crossings... The land border between Vietnam and Laos was not included. Is it possible to travel by bus from Hanoi to Vientiane or Luang Prabang?

I'm not sure about this I'm so sorry, but when you go to the bus station you can ask them about Luang Prabang. I'm only aware of the one heading to Vientiane, You could use the fast train from Vientiane to luang Prabang its 23$.

Hi I’m from India planning to visit laos from hanoi by bus Do we need a evisa or visa on arrival will do ? On the link to apply for evisa it says entry from 5 places Do we apply for evisa or do we get visa on arrival ?

Hello, thanks for watching If you are now in Hanoi, you can go to the Laos embassy in Hanoi they charge 35$ and you pick the passport the next day. If you don’t have time you can apply for an E-visa and get the stamp at the Laos border, my friend from Russia got an E-visa and paid 5$ for a stamp at the border. I personally prefer the route of applying before arrival. About the entry in 5 places, that was changed a while back and you can now travel everywhere. ( I put the address in the description below)

@@travelstoriesbyfawad you are welcome There are several border crossings: Sop Hun (May, Phongsaly, Laos) - Tây Trang (Điện Biên district, Điện Biên province, Vietnam) Namsoi (Viengxay, Houaphanh, Laos) - Na Mèo (Quan Sơn, Thanh Hóa, Vietnam) Namkan (Nong Het, Xiangkhouang, Laos) - Nậm Cắn (Kỳ Sơn, Nghệ An, Vietnam)
