Hope you didn't patronise the chocolate stores that sell chocolate hands. It symbolises the barbaric act that Belgian soldiers committed in the then Belgian Congo when they cut off the hands of workers when they didn't produce enough rubber at the time. Yes the King Albert was the most cruel regent that's why his statue was removed from the square during the Black lives matter movement. 🤔

That’s crazy. I remember reading about this online but I totally forgot. I didn’t buy the chocolates tho, maybe I’d I had gone into the shops, I’d have seen them and remembered! Thanks for the comment !
