We found the cosiest little village in Yorkshire. It was a fairytale! Haworth is known for its beautiful heritage railway, long walks through rugged landscape and warm coffeeshops serving some of the best cakes I've had in a long time!
Hope you enjoy my 24 hour guide to this pretty Yorkshire village - I hope you get to visit one day!
If you're wanting to spend the night, here's £25 off your stay: www.airbnb.co.uk/c/samb17716?...

Thank you for visiting our lovely village. So pleased that you enjoyed it. As a shop keeper on Main Street, it’s a blessing to have so many people coming from all over (outside of restrictions!) to visit us: locals; day trippers (many from Manchester) and so many foreign visitors from almost every nation. One of the benefits of coming when you did is to get an idea of how rugged and tough it has been over the years up on the moors. Brontë Bridge is 2.5 miles from Main Street, with Top Withens a further mile (so a 7 mile round trip). Back on Main Street, Jill at No 10 makes all her own cakes, and they are awesome! The Fleece is a great pub too (includes good quality accommodation too). The Parsonage museum, where the Bronte sisters wrote their infamous novels, is open 7 days a week, but closed throughout January. Well worth a visit. Haworth Wholefood shop, at the top of Main Street, also stock some of the wonderful bread from the Hebden Bridge Saker Bakery - I’m addicted! Come back soon!!

Hi Simon! Thank you SO MUCH for your wonderful comment. I think it will help so many people who would like to visit here once lockdown is over. The local shops and restaurants are honestly some of my favourites and Jill's cakes are absolutely to die for aren't they!! I will have to properly explore the museum next time I visit and I'd absolutely love to walk up to Top Withens - probably when we spend a little longer in the area. I will have to look out for the Wholefood shop - we didn't see it this time around! Thanks for the tips and hopefully see you around Haworth soon!

Last August, I walked from Haworth to Wycoller. Then came back from Wycoller through Top Witten and Bronte Bridge. Starting 6:30 and arriving back to Haworth 5:00 at tea time. It was an amazing experience. Traveling inside the moor made me feel, the story of Jane Eyre.

Hello. Thank you so much for uploading this lovely video! Not many people know about this charming little village. I went to Haworth in February '18. It was bitterly cold but the view from the top of the hill (it's called Penistone Hill, I think) was gorgeous. We didn't come across the bridge or the school room though.
@BellaDiary
@BellaDiary 4 жыл бұрын
You're right! It's a little bit of a hidden gem isn't it! The views around the village are just stunning. You're right. And that just means you'll have to return once quarantine is over and see the bridge and the school room. It's a bit of a walk to the bridge but so worth it!

@@BellaDiary Hi. A hidden gem, indeed! And yes, another visit is on the cards, probably not this year though, unfortunately. Correct: Penistone Hill. The bridge and waterfall is another 1.5 miles further west. The Old School Rooms, established by the sister’s father and where the ladies taught, is just next to the Parsonage.

Not many people realise it's in the *City of Bradford* just like everywhere in this video (apart from Hebden Bridge), as people like to pretend that it isn't. *Bradford* is only the *6th biggest city in the UK,* with a *227 miles squared* area, and a population of *539,786* after all.

I LOVE this video of my little village! Living here is a blessing and I'm so glad you have shared a little slice of it with more people! It is lovely that you chose to share our village with others and hopefully encourage more people to come and visit. It's strange seeing the place so quiet at the moment and all of the big events for the spring/summer have been cancelled of course. So we are looking forward to having visitors again when it's safe! I hope you return at some point! Xx

There were so many rubbish shops on the street in the 90s. The quality has improved tremendously. No. 10 Coffee Shop has to be the best, but many others are of high quality. The quality of the shops as well just keeps on getting better. It's been nearly thirty years, Paul. Time to make a return visit :-)

Yorkshire is a huge area made up of three counties (North, West and South). North Yorkshire has the amazing city of York, The Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors and some wonderful coastal towns and villages; West Yorkshire is traditionally more industrialised, playing host to Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield, plus many other smaller towns. It is where I live in Haworth, the home of the Bronte Sisters in the early 1800s. Haworth also has it's famous cobbled main street, a steam railway and is just on the doorstep of the moors. South Yorkshire is also more industrialised and hosts cities such as Sheffield (which, to my shame, I have not visited yet). Nearby, though is the Yorkshire Sculpture Park with an amazing array of exhibits dotted around it's large grounds. So much to see in Yorkshire. I arrived here from London over 30 years ago and still have so much more to see.

*Haworth* a village in the *City of Bradford,* the *6th biggest city in the UK.* *Haworth* is just one of many neighbourhoods, villages and/or towns in the *City of Bradford* which people like to pretend are outside the cities border, even when those neighbourhoods are less than 2 miles from the city centre. *Bradford* is 3 times bigger than *Manchester,* and had a bigger population than *Manchester* until 2015, as that's what happens when there's 20 years of propaganda to increase a cities size by over 160,000 people in just 20 years.

@@BellaDiary *Bradford* is the world's first *UNESCO City of Film.* It gave birth to some of the earliest pioneers and inventors in film history with things like the *Cieroscope* and the *Kineoptoscope.* It's home to the *National Science and Media Museum.* It's home to the first ever *IMAX* cinema in *Europe.* It's home to the *Pictureville* cinema which is 1 of only 3 places in the world where you can watch films on a *Cinerama* screen. It's home to the *Cubby Broccoli* cinema which is one of the smallest in *Europe.* It's the former *Wool Capital of the World.* It's home to the *UNESCO World Heritage Site* - *Saltaire.* It's the official record breaking *Curry Capital of Britain.* It's one of the locations on the annual *Tour de Yorkshire* which is part of the *UCI Europe Tour.* In the city centre alone there's... 1 - *Shopping* - Practically every high street store you can think of in *Kirkgate, Forster Square* and *The Broadway.* 2 - *Cinema* - To add to the 3 mentioned above there's *Cineworld* and *The Light* which are within 5 minutes walk of the others, as well as the *Odeon* which is just 3 miles up the road. 3 - *Theatre* - Two of the best large theatres in the country in the *Alhambra Theatre* and *St George's Hall,* as well as the *Bradford Playhouse.* 4 - *Galleries* - There's around 6 mini art galleries which include *The Impressions Gallery, Gallery II, Fuse Art Space, Artz I, The Dye House Gallery,* and *Kala Sangam.* 5 - *Bars* - There's bars and shops in the underground tunnels of *Sunbridge Wells.* There's more bars on North Parade aka the *Independent Quarter.* There's more bars and nightclubs in and around *Morley Street* (although the majority of those have been bought and closed by a Manchester born owner). Plus more bars scattered across the rest of the city centre. 6 - *Fun* - There's bowling, casino's, bingo, ice skating, escape room games, lazer gun games, and even inflatable theme park in the city centre. Plus go karting is only a mile away from City Hall. 7 - *Food* - Obvious as the *Curry Capital of Britain* Indian restaurants dominate. However there's cuisines from various countries from around the world, as well as all the usual fast food franchises. 8 - *Sport* - There's *Bradford City AFC* for football. Then there's *Bradford Bulls* for rugby league, who are one of the most successful clubs in the history of rugby league. We have at least 10 semi-professional football or rugby teams. And 100's of amateur football or rugby teams to watch if you don't want to pay. There's other sports and sports teams, but none that anyone really pays attention to. It's either football or rugby in this city. 9 - *Museums* - As well as the previously mentioned *National Science and Media Museum* there's also *The Peace Museum, The Police Museum,* and *The Colour Experience Museum.* Plus other museums like *Bolling Hall, Cartwright Hall* and *The Industrial Museum* are less than 2 miles away. 10 - *Heritage* - Other areas of interest include: *Bradford Cathedral* which is based in the heritage neighbourhood of *Little Germany.* *Waterstones* book shop which is the best one in the country. It's based at the old *Wool Exchange.* And *Bradford City Hall.* At least 40 or 50 films and TV shows have filmed in the city centre in the last couple of years alone because of all the great buildings we have. Yes there's some ugly concrete buildings from the 60's scattered around but the rest are quality. If you get bored of the city centre then there's many more places in *Bradford* to visit like: 1 - The *Bronte Parsonage Museum,* *Timothy Taylors,* and the *Black Bull* in *Haworth.* 2 - *Parkwood Off Road Centre* in *Tong.* It appeared on *Top Gear: Extra Gear* in 2017. 3 - *Salts Mill,* *Saltaire Brewery* and *Robert's Park* in *Saltaire.* 4 - *Bracken Hall* in *Baildon.* 5 - *Undercliffe Cemetery* and *Peel Park* in *Undercliffe.* 6 - The *Cow and Calf* rocks, *Betty's Tea Room,* the *Toy Museum,* *Manor House Museum,* *Kings Hall and Winter Gardens,* *Ilkley Cinema* and *Ilkley Lido* in *Ilkley.* 7 - *Doe Park Reservoir* in *Denholme.* 8 - *St Ives Estate,* and the *Five Rise Locks* in *Bingley.* 9 - The original home to the UK's current biggest soap *Emmerdale* in the village of *Esholt.* It moved to a purpose built set in *Leeds* in 1997, but still films in *Bradford* occasionally, usually for court or prison scenes. 10 - *Cliffe Castle Museum,* *East Riddlesden Hall,* *Keighley Civic Centre and Police Museum,* *Keighley Bus Museum,* the Vintage Carriage Trust's *Museum of Rail Travel* aka the *Carriage Works Museum* (one of the two museums which are collectively known as Rail Story), the Bahamas Locomotive Society's *Ingrow Loco Museum* aka the *Engine Shed Museum* (one of the two museums which are collectively known as Rail Story), and the *Keighley and Worth Valley Railway* in *Keighley.* We've also given birth to 1000's of famous film/TV directors/producers/screenwriters/actors, TV presenters, TV judges, authors, artists, singers, rappers, musicians, bands, deejays, magicians, politicians, inventors, scientists, sportsmen, sports teams, businesses etc. most of which people don't even realise are from *Bradford.* And we've had 100's of films and TV shows filmed here mainly in City Hall, City Park, Little Germany, The Midland Hotel, Undercliffe Cemetery, Ilkley Moor, Saltaire, Dalton Mills, Haworth, and the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. *City Hall* has been used for films and TV shows like: *Emmerdale, Coronation Street, The Duke* (2020), *Victoria, King Charles III, The Windsors, Peaky Blinders, Room at the Top* (2012), *Room at the Top* (1959), *Life at the Top, South Riding* (2011), *Seaforth, Official Secrets, The Great Train Robbery, The Brides in the Bath, National Treasure, No Angels, The ABC Murders, The Red Riding Trilogy, Spooks: Code 9, DCI Banks, A Touch of Frost, Band of Gold, Ackley Bridge, The Syndicate, Playing the Field, Billy Liar, Blow Dry, The Life and Crimes of William Palmer, A Passionate Woman, Elevator Gods, Welcome to Karachi, The Hairy Builder, Heston's Great British Food, One Day in May: The Story of the Bradford City Fire, Building Britain, Bollywood Carmen, Dynamo: Magician Impossible* and many many more which I've no doubt forgotten about or don't know about yet.
