I went to Paris 17 years ago and I didn't really like it. I went back two years ago and I fell in love with it. I wanted to go this summer too but hotel prices are crazy!!! (over 250 euros per night in a two star hotel) so I decided to catch the 6am train from London and come back with the 9pm train. Just one day. Just to walk around, look around, eat around, soak up the Parisian atmosphere. I'm going at the end of this month so this video came out at the perfect time :) Thank you!

Same here my husband and I went together about 14 years ago and didn’t understand what was so great about it. Fast forward to last year I went with some friends and it was great. I liked it enough to convince my husband to give Paris another try. He agreed. We just returned this week from a fabulous time. Paris and the country of France is really beginning to grow on me!!!

I visit paris several times a year, by train from Belgium ( By Thalys). A visit just for a day, the first train there and last one back. My whole day is just like in your video, neatly planned. with a few terraces, restaurant and at least one museum. 12-15 km walking, rarely a metro. You encounter so many great places, streets,...

Great advice! It’s what my French friends told me to do when I went to Paris the 1st time, 30 years ago. I spent 1 week in Dijon, but I only had 1.5 days in Paris. The only thing, my friends told me not to go to the Eiffel Tower because you can see it from a distance. True. But, when I came home, everyone asked if I went to the Eiffel Tower, and constantly saying no, made me wish I went to it. I didn’t go inside any museums. Sitting in front of Notre-Dame, and looking at the architecture of Paris was a lot to soak up. Picking that thing you love to do, is perfect! I love sitting and watching people. So, I terrace and park hop, and go to perfume shops.

When we are leaving France after 3 weeks of traveling outside of Paris, we drop off our rental car at Charles De Gaulle Airport the day before our departure and check into one of the hotels there. Then we take the RER to the Saint-Michel-Notre-Dame station. We then spend the next 10 hours in our favorite part of Paris.

So true that Paris can take a life time to explore. Wonderful city. As a foodie, I go to a really good restaurant for lunch as it so much less expensive than dinner, try new wines and innovative food, then spend the afternoon walking off lunch, shopping and visiting cavistes. Then I have a light dinner at a good cafe or get bread, cheese and a little charcuterie and sit on one of the quais, weather permitting. Parfait.

Dear Lucille, we just got back from Paris, and I wanted to thank you! We stayed in an amazing apartment in Les Batignolles, and loved it! It is you recommendation of this neighborhood that pushed us towards this apartment, and it has made our Paris experience so much better. To be honest, I wouldn't even leave the neighborhood (I have seen major Paris landmarks before), but i had to show my daughter:) So, thank you again, and I can't wait to go back to this area! I was in Paris for 12 hours and I was able to see most of its famous attractions; Eiffel Tower, Pere Lachaise, Place de la Bastille, Notre Dame, Louvre, Sacre Coeur and Arc de Triomphe. I'm cheap thus I didn't go inside any of the paid attractions. My favorite was Pere Lachaise cemetery.

Hi there, love your channel 😊👍But I´m also a local in Montmartre (for over 11 years) You have hundreds of restaurants in Montmartre neigborhood and many really good ones, so I don´t agree with you not to eat in Montmartre, it´s like judging out over 250 restaurants. Personally I wouldn´t recommend Bouillon if you looking for good food, but if you are on a budget it´s perfect. Looking forward to more videos 😊🌸🌸👍

+1 Can confirm that Le Louvre will eat your day, leave you drained and you might get to enjoy maybe 20% of it. If it is on your must do list, I'd say allocate 2-3 days, if you want to take it all in, though Lucile may have a better suggestion. We definitely need to plan to go back, forearmed with Lucile's wisdom!

I stayed in Eifel tower area (15th) great local area, safe. I didnt like Paris because of olmypics construction. The opera house was getting worked on. Notre dam as well...... i do have alot of tips.

I like your video a lot - it's important to avoid trying to "do all the major sights" - probably I wouldn't even visit Montmartre as it can be a nightmare of crowds and pickpockets. I'd also set a maximum of three Métro rides in one day - many make the mistake of thinking of the Métro as a wormhole that takes you across the city in no time at all. If you count the waiting times and the walks in corridors for changing trains, a single Métro trip is easily 20-30 minutes, so if you take too many of them, they'll eat into your day - and while they are quite a Parisian experience, noise and air quality in some of the lines can make it pretty tiring.
@LucileHR

I agree with your thoughts on the metro, I actually prefer walking and biking if I can :)

Go behind Sacre Cour, there is a restaurant called Bohemia, the food is delicious. Everyone in my family loved it, specially the dessert 🍮. The prices are what you expect to pay at a sit down restaurant. By the way, they have one of the cleanest and most beautiful bathrooms in Paris. I visited a month ago by the way, service is slow so enjoy the vibe and whom ever your with 😊
