Our morning starts at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport for a flight to Seattle, Washington to start our Wild West road trip. After breakfast and drinks at Makai Plantation, located inside the airport, we fly Premium Economy with Hawaiian Airlines and check into our Executive Studio Suite at the Thompson Hotel in downtown Seattle. First thing the next morning we head to Pike Place Market. On the way, we stop for cappuccinos at Storyville Coffee and have breakfast at The Crumpet Shop where Jason try’s his very first crumpet. After breakfast we try out the Goose Point oyster shooters from Pike Place Fish Market and watch the famous fish tossing. We make our way to Beecher’s Handmade Cheese and sample the “World Famous” Mac & Cheese. Next stop is Post Alley for Pike Place Chowder and a visit to the Gum Wall. We take the King County Water Taxi over to West Seattle and have lunch and cocktails at Salty’s on Alki Beach. After lunch we take the water taxi back to Seattle and walk down Miners Landing Pier 57 before stopping at Elliots Oyster House Pier 56 for dinner and more cocktails. We close out the night with a night cap at The Nest Rooftop Bar. Next morning we pack up our bags and head to the Seattle-Tacoma Airport Car Rental (Hertz). We start the first leg of the Wild West road trip with a stop at Snoqualmie Falls and end this one just outside of the Bavarian Village Leavenworth, Washington. See you in the next one!

The whole 20 percent service charge versus server tip is disgusting. That should be explained PRIOR to your meal. Loved the first vlog of the trip, can’t wait for the next episode. The gum wall might be the grossest thing I’ve ever seen. Lol.

Really loved the Pike Place Chowder visit!! I went to school in Boston and used to get New England clam chowder served in a bread bowl. This reminded me of that so much.

G'day Cailey and Jason, Gotta say great idea to have the travel channel. Wonderful start to the trip. About the service charge it is starting to happen on the eastern states of OZ. But here its usually written on the menu in the window as you enter. They don't tell you about it when you get the bill. Can't believe you havn't had crumpets before Jase. Common breakfast item down under but Cailey would know that. Stay safe Cailey and Karen Cutler lol.

THANK YOU for featuring West Seattle - even if it is just Salty's, yes, it is good but dang if y'all could have made it to Alki beach - alas just taking the ferry is so great! My favorite place on earth is West Seattle! Also, thank you for getting what you wanted in the rental car! Seriously!!! It matters, companies think they can 'get away with' providing subpar options and it is annoying!

loved the vlog! We are frequent Vegas travelers (how I found you guys), but have always wanted to check out Seattle. After seeing those crowds, I absolutely no longer want to visit, but was able to visit through your vlog - so THANK YOU!! Also, fun fact: my brother lives in Salt Lake City and he is charge of monitoring all the earthquake/volcanic activity in Yellowstone. You will LOVE it there - so beautiful!

I found your video right before I left for Seattle this past week and I wanted to thank you for the recommendation on the restaurant Elliott's. It was very good and thanks for warning us about the extra service fee we were prepared and everything was cool. Your videos have been really cool and a lot of fun keep up the good work!

Great video. The 20% charge actually pays the servers salary making them better paid with tips included, then the average middle class citizen. But great stuff as always, good food and booze recommendations as usual.

Crumpets need to really well done and crispy on the outside - we practically burn them before we put butter and jam on, so the top and bottom are crunchy and the inside is soft 😋

Hi Jason and Cailey, you did an awesome job in seeing a lot in Seattle. We have explored there a couple times and always love it. Definitely have to watch out for the crazies! We loved Leavenworth and can't wait to see that blog too. If I had talked to you before you left, I would have suggested making sure to fit Glacier National Park in your trip, it is the best of all the ones I have seen. But there is always a next trip! Have fun, be safe! PS: We live in Idaho, our son lives in Coeur d'alene!

Perfect one-day stop in Seattle. The hotel looks awesome! I keep meaning to go across to Salty's but haven't prioritized it. Will deffo need to take the "cruise" across 😂 and load up on the see-foods-eat-foods 🥰

Hi J&C - OMG - you're in my neck of the woods - I grew up in the greater Seattle area - my family moved there the summer of 1967 and they are still there (in Auburn). The Pike Place Market is such an iconic place to visit, the weather was gorgeous, you had some great food (I could do without the oysters but just a personal preference). Mt Rainier was kind of clouded in or that would've been quite a view. Loved the crusty bread at Elliotts - so sorry the "tip situation" threw a wet towel on the experience - the management needs to re-evaluate that policy. You seemed to come out well with the rental car - hey, I'm sure you're paying a premium so don't take crap from the staff and get a dependable vehicle. Have a safe journey and enjoy it all! You're going to have some gorgeous scenery on this trip! Looking forward to the rest. Hugs to you both!!! 😎❤

Great hotel! I have heard of this service fee...not cool servers deserve the 20% & whatever tip one leaves. Greedy businesses & owners. Yes agreed awkward for patrons. Love the change of travel venue but miss you both in Vegas! Food & drinks look amazing. My friends moved to Gig Harbor WA they love it!

Living in Oregon, I have never heard of a place charging 20% + waiters tip?? I would say to avoid these places and never frequent them!!

They're not charging 20% plus waiters tips. The idea is by charging you 20%, there is no need for you to tip your server. But of course the servers are going to try and still talk you into it.

Being a local, I can tell you exactly what you are supposed to do at Elliott's. You don't tip. The servers will try and talk you into it, but the idea is that by paying the service charge to the company, they actually give the servers a big pay raise to make up for the lack of tips. But of course the servers are going to try and talk you into still giving them extra.

love seeing this road trip video besides the tip system they had in place at the restaurant. which for me is a bummer. we did this road trip to Yellowstone National Park back in July of 2023 from Hope BC, down to I-5 then I 90 EAST heading to Spokane WA for our first 2 days stop then head straight for 9 hrs. drive to west Yellowstone. it was such a wonderful experience for me and my family.
