What made Jordan so fun to watch was how quickly he went into his moves. He never overdribbled. Usually taking one or two dribbles before exploding. You could tell he already knew what he wanted to do before he received the pass. He worked very well off the ball and was not as ball dominant as players like Kobe, T-Mac, Lebron, Iverson. All those players that wanted to be the next Jordan. They didn't understand the fundamentals like he did, that is what spending three years in college under Dean Smith did for his game. He perfectly married otherworldly athleticism with fundamentally sound and efficient moves.

I can't front you are spot on with that comment...this mj was so explosive and quick and as you said he didn't have to force the issue because he could get by his man so fast...his athleticism was too much for opposing defenses...I'm willing to bet that if detroit didn't beat mj up in those playoff runs and just played him straight up, bulls would have been got past pistons, it wouldn't take long...he was that good..that man could kill teams by himself if he wanted too, every single night

Wilt Chamberlain was the alien. Michael Jordan was the try hard with talent. Bobby Knight said it best. Jordan is one of the most talented guys (not the most talented), but had the ultimate work ethic, drive and fundamentals. That is why he put him 1. Jordan wasn't the most talented person on his own team. Scottie Pippen was as John Salley said. Pippen had nowhere near the drive, work ethic Jordan did. Jordan got him to buy in on working out and his work ethic wasn't bad but his drive was just not there like Michael's was. Lebron is very much like Pippen cept he does HGH and is allowed to run over little guys because centers are now gone from the game with rule changes.

I actually think a well polished midrange game is really fun to watch. Three pointers are a lot more fun as momentum changers. It's not very fun when it feels like you have to hit a bunch of 3s just to keep up with the other team. These days if your team is having an off night shooting 3s, you basically have no chance if the other team is hitting.

His “absolute prime” was a couple years after this. He HAD to do everything like this because he HAD nobody until roughly 1990. 1990 & 1991 is MJ at his peak without debate. His “absolute prime”…. This is just the beginning of his prime. 1990 he put up better numbers than he did this year, led the league in scoring AND steals AGAIN. He got robbed of the MVP that year. He should’ve won the MVP and DPOTY that year too. He only put up better numbers across the board in 1990 than he did this season; he only scored 1.4 pts less a game, and that’s also the year he really developed his outside shot. He shot almost 38% from 3 that year. And 91 he shot his career best 54% from the floor, and won his 2nd MVP, another scoring title, and had zero holes in his game at all by that point. Zero. He led the league in scoring and steals 3 different times. He was blatantly robbed of the MVP in 92/93. He put up better numbers in 90 and 93 than he did in both his MVP seasons in 91 & 92. And led the league in steals in BOTH seasons along with scoring. The dude should have 7 MVP’s and 3 DPOTY awards.

I prove this everyday how pro sports are rigged by this code. Words equals numbers. It’s as easy as ABC, 123. A is the “1st” letter in the alphabet so A= 1, B is the “2nd” letter in the alphabet so B= 2, C is the “3rd” letter in the alphabet so C= 3, and so on much more to it than that. its not that hard to understand.

Hmm....I gotta say, young Jordan is DEFINITELY the most athletic guard in NBA history. Young Derrick Rose and Westbrook were great athletes, but I think young Jordan was superior. I would put prime Wade's quickness and speed up against any guard in NBA history or even any player regardless of position in NBA history and he could also jump out of the gym. Wade's athleticism combined with his touch around the rim made him at minimum a top 3 all time driver and finisher. I'm not sure if any guard in NBA history dunked as often as prime Wade and we all know Wade is the best shot blocking guard of all time and it's not like he was a particularly big guard at 6'4". His long arms did help though. I'm just saying, Wade deserves an honorable mention at the very least and was arguably the 2nd most athletic SG of all time.

To anyone who watched this, please take note of the fact that he scores in the paint when the defensive focus is exactly there. In today’s NBA, there are 4 players outside the three-point line and there is almost always a pick and roll taking place meaning there is a always two on one situation making it for the offensive player to either kick it out to the shooters or go to paint since there is no one there. In this era that is almost nonexistent, the defense is waiting for you. MJ averaged all those points on basically midrange jumpers and drives, imagine if he had the space that is available today...truly the GOAT!!

Gotdammit he jumps high and also hangs in the dam air.. Shit don't make no damn sense.... He does all that and then decides to go and play exceptional defense.... AND I want to once again mention how good he was off the ball, he moved excellently without the ball, and he was great at catching and shooting... Its like God mode times a billion. Too bad you cant bottle it up. Be nice to see a 24 yr old Jordan play again. Ya he won all his rings at a much later time in his life but a youthful Michael Jordan is something to watch. Its magical and a phenomenon. His energy...his moves. His jump! At age 24, his prime of his life! Like i said b4, too bad physically, u cant be 24 forever. Be nice for the millenials to see and watch what we, generation X watched back in the day.

I think the consensus is is that MJ from 90-91 was the best Jordan ever overall. This year he was at his best athletically but not iq wise. I mean some people think he was his best 95-96. The thing is is that he was so good his whole career that it's hard to say when his true prime was. Different players reach their prime at different ages. Lebron seems to reach his closer to late 20s early 30s. Some are done by their 30s so it all depends. I can see how anyone could argue that this was MJ's best year though, completely amazing.

Jordan age 21-29 was just not fair. Probably the most athletic guard of all time at those ages. When he came back the first time in 1995 he had to rely on more of his skill and fundamentals but could still bring out the quickness and athleticism when he had too (like when he wanted to dunk on Mutombo).

As a Serb I'm proud of what Jokic has achieved so far. Even though he's surpassed many NBA records and even some of Jordan's historic stats.. But there's no way Jokic or LeBron or anyone will ever take the GOAT status over Jordan.. he's what Bruce Lee is to martial arts.. an immortal phenomenon!

Mj would literally embarrass anyone of these weak soft NBA players of the current era.....film don't lie.....it is so sad when MJ highlights from over 30+ years ago are 1000 times better than any of the NBA garbage that we see today.....MJ made everyone look stupid and like an amateur during his career and today they would probably have to change the rules to keep him from embarrassing the NBA with an easy 40 the 60 point per game average..... he was and even his highlights were a million times better than anyone else playing today....the closest to MJ was Kobe Bryant.......great vid......thank you so much!!!!

Also there’s zones now, so it wouldn’t be very very very very easy but he’d still drop like 35 5 6. But that’ll also be at the cost of his teammates so his teams wouldn’t win rings he’d have to be more unselfish

I already know MJ is the GOAT. Highlights are nice and all but to really appreciate him, you really do have the watch the FULL game. Lebron, Kobe, Shaq all have nice highlight videos but when you watch the whole game, you really understand how MJ can just dominate the game. So far, Shaq was the only other player I saw and felt that 1 player can really dominate the game watching the whole game. However, MJ just had that different feeling whenever he was on the court. I can guarantee that every other players on the court felt when MJ was on the court... and sometimes even when he was not on the court too.

Gilbert Arenas makes the best comparison for Kobe vs. MJ. Kobe was nowhere near Jordan when it came to attributes. But Kobe had the drive set and skill set to put himself close. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z8ilathnkpjenIE.html

Kobe Bryant was closest I’ve seen to MJ but he was as efficient of a scorer. I don’t think Kobe ever shot 50% and Michael’s career FG% was 49%.

Kobe was great, but he had much smaller hands and a lower vertical leap. To go along with his mentality, Jordan had all-time freakish physical attributes for basketball. Jordan also had unusually small and quick feet for his height.
