Back in 1999 I bought a mint 1991 SE hatchback with Super Hicas in Misty Blue with the manual as a graduation gift to myself. In 2002 I had the opportunity to get one of the angry eyes 240 and when I met the owner to look at it I was crushed. I immediately saw bad gaps between the hood and headlights and the fender alignment was off too. I popped the hood and saw welds in wrong places. Turns out the car was a rebuild and not even a good one

I bought a s13 silvia in 2005 for $5500 AUZ,175k, really good condition, everything working, just had a major service, new steering rack turned great. Fresh coil overs otherwise stock apart from the the cringe front bar which I hated it looked so out of place but ended up saving the car. Just a couple of weeks later hit a kangaroo and totaled the front bar but due to how far it stuck out and how big it was the actual car didn't get touched. Came with the original bumper so I put that on it looked way better.

My last s14 had 89k on the odo, 95se manual built in early 94… I was the second owner. Slid into a construction barrier driving down the interstate during a heavy, heavy rainstorm. Drove it home with bent control arms. Ins gave me what I paid for it, 6k, after I’d driven it for 5 years. Bought an evo 9 new so that was 2005-2006.

I saw a stock S14 240sx in town the other day most likely automatic that was kinda dirty so it wasnt a super stock collector car or anything just a guy driving a mid 90s 240sx around as a daily. I couldnt help but wonder they dont know the worth, could easily sell it for 6k+ as a good body good frame full interior (even when automatic) and get a much nicer used car with that money

I'm mad I couldn't afford the $13k '98 (or should I say 98 foot) SE I test drove in 2002. I think it had 38k miles or something like that. It's one of the ultimate ones that got away. That and the '95 SE I bid up to $8,500 on ebay in 2007 that had 22k miles on it. Damn my poor ass.

This is why I stopped caring about cars, moved to motorcycles. It's a lot less toxic over here. Way better community, these old motorcycles from the 70s, 80s, and 90s are relatively cheap. Much cheaper than a 240sx.

I own an s14 and absolutely hate this piece of crap. Even with the ls swap its still just another mid 90s nissan. Its a dated chassis. It takes thousands of dollars in chassis parts to make it do anything really well besides go down the road. Id love to trade this pile for something far better.

Did you test drive it before hand? Did you do the research of owning one? What possessed you to fork over the money for it before answering my previous two questions or did you just inherit someone's sh$! project? I've owned my 240 for 25 years and I own 5 cars all much much newer with less mileage. Never had problems with my 240 other than basic maintenance and it is a 35 year old car that has traveled the distance to the moon. Can't say the same about newer cars that would end up leaving you stranded just because some stupid sensor crapped out and can't communicate with the ECM

Regarding steering wheels, the oem s14 steering wheel is UGLY AF. best option would be to swap it with a nicer looking steering wheel, maybe R34, S15, some nismo Stuff OR, a good looking Nardi, Personal, Momo steering wheel. All those drift ass plastic/resin steering wheels SUCK.
