Although AOC advertises with 1ms response time, it actually means the 'moving picture response time' and not the real response time, which is 4ms. This can be confusing for people who are not really into the monitor-scene - like me - and just see '1 ms response time' on the box.
An IPS panel can't have 1ms response time, the best it gets is 4ms (which this one has), so that might already be a big indicator for people to know that the 1ms rp is actually mprt.
Now we got that out of the way: the 27 inch and 24 inch monitor are the same in specs, but one is of course a bit bigger than the other. They deliver great picture quality in Full HD with 144Hz refresh rate.
The build quality is great and the bezels are really small. Overall these are both great monitors for gamers or editors and they're pretty cheap as well.

i got the 27 inch versio(27g2u) two days ago. Colors, contrast and input lag are excellent, the response time is great, no ghosting or overshoot at all even on strong setting, the navigation buttons are tiny and hard to get used to, viewing angles are the really good, colors wont shift unless you look at the screen from extreme angles, but the biggest issue i had with this is the pixel inversion which is pretty annoying, when you move in a game a sort of mesh appears on the screen briefly and quickly disapears once the motion is finished, some people might not notice this but it bothers me, i dont know if this affects all these panels or if i just got a defective one, i dont have another one to compare, sadly i am going to return it, if not for this problem this monitor would had been the best purchase.

being an ips panel and response time worse than a tn counterpart you usually find AMA activated, so to reduce ghosting. The paradox is that with AMA activated you see more of what is called inverse ghosting, wich is the artifact you are probably talking about. I noticed that in games like csgo, where motion clarity is important, but its even more important to not have these kind of fake artifacts that can ruin your visibility. You can try to turn Off/On/Premium the AMA option and see what is more appealing for you.

My biggest issue with this monitör was pixels are so visible. Its like 720p in 24inc. Something like lack of sharpness. Have you had the same problem?

@@ardakbaycan It's called using a 27-inch 1080p monitor. I'd say 1080p for 24 inches and below and 27 and more for 1440p or a higher resolution

Must buy a game monitor with minimal ghosting and input layers. Have selected two monitors but do not find out which one is best .. One is asus vg278qr tn panel. The other is the aoc 27g2u ips panel. Have been told that tn panel has better ms and poorer colors while ips panel has better colors but slower ms. Which of them should I buy for gaming? Thanks for reply!

@@coolamericano I bought a 27" 1080p (an asus tuf model IPS) I gotta say it depends what you are actually playing, If you play a lot of RPG, open world games, 27 inch offers more visual field but if you play online competetive FPS games like CSGO, Battleflield, etc. i recommend choosing the 24". also the 27" pixel density looks a little blurry but its fine for me the bigger the better

Good morning my friend, I saw some people complaining about this model, I wanted to get the 24g2 / bk, it's the same as the one in the config, but 24 inches, I saw some people complaining about dead pixel and bleeding backlight, you already used this monitor a a few months, did you notice anything? Did you notice any defect or something? Because there is a video of a guy saying super bad destr product, showed 2 dead pixels on his screen, it was right there, version 27 and said that the quality of the panel was very bad, so I was in doubt if I get the 24g2 or not ... because I would get the one from msi mag241c, which is a VA panel, then that interested me, but it’s a fire, we see complaints of deadpixel, backlight bleeding and it’s kind of awkward, because sometimes it’s worth a top panel VA than a bad IPS panel, so I'm in doubt, what is your experience with the 24 and 27g2? Regarding these things

I would advise not to get a 27 inch screen with a 1080p resolution - it's simply too pixelated. Perhaps a store nearby has a monitor like that on display and you can see it for yourself. 1080p for 24 inch, 1440p for 27 inch is the way to go.

Guys, i need some advice and i really hope that someone around here can help me. I want to buy a monitor for my laptop , but, i don't really have any experience in the field. I have settled for a 144hz, 27 zoll fhd gaming monitor, the problem i have with this decision, is, that i'm not sure if my laptop confg., can run it properly. Mprt is even more important for gaming than GtG response time as it removes the motion blur, ghosting, coronas etc.

No, mprt is a marketing tactic to get the 1ms with overdrive. You definitely shouldn't be using that though.

@@Daniel-ge8gk mprt is not a marketing tactic. It represents how long is the pixel visible for. Even when a pixel finishes its GtG transition from one color to another color, a fully refreshed pixel can stay continuously visible or static until the next refresh cycle. Thus, GtG and MPRT numbers are different. You can have 1ms gtg but slow mprt which is the case in most 1ms gtg monitors and that's why that kind of monitors have a lot of motion blur. Only way to remove it is to buy a 240hz 1ms gtg monitor and a high end gpu.

Is anyone have that AOC 27G2U? I don't see any 24" version in my country, only 27" left. Is that good monitor and 1080p is still good on 27" ? 144hz with IPS is great combination and that's what i want. I also want to buy LG 27GL850-B 1440p 144hz IPS,but i don't if my GTX 1060 can handle it and for years i play on 1080p and don't know how it will be in games like FPS.

Useless. Especially connecting a game console to a 144hz screen. What buyers of these monitors will want to know is. How blurry does the screen get while moving quickly in fps games. And how well freesync works.. anyone can look up the specs on their site.

@@awknz yup. This "review" gave me no information i could not already have found. I want to know if g-sync works ok with its freesync. I want to know which overdrive setting is still acceptable. I want to know what and if there are differences between the 27 and 24 inch models in terms of performance ,brightness. Etc etc backlight bleed. They are different panels so different monitors. This review makes nobody any wiser.

@@MrMastadox I put overdrive on strong after watching another review and it's really good. I'm really impressed. I don't notice any ghosting or strange shadowing or pixel inversion or anything. I've owned both the ASUS MG279Q and the Rog Swift PG279Q. The ASUS has very noticeable motion blur with no option to turn it off and the Rog Swift felt fine really but this monitor really feels like playing on a tn monitor and I do notice these things. I'm really impressed. User mode with colors 50 50 50 "standard" whatever is absolutely fine. It looks great and freesync hasn't given me any problems on my nvidia 1070. It just seems to work. Backlight bleed is weird here where on the Rog Swift it was prominent even on lighter shades but here it ONLY shows in the bottom corners when you've got a pitch dark room and a black background image. For example, when watching a movie with all lights turned off, I STILL don't see any of that backlight bleed on the black bars when the movie is playing. It's like as soon as you bring in a tiny amount of shade to the blacks, they disappear to the point where it's not been a problem whatsoever. I just never see it and I didn't expect that so 10/10 on backlight bleed for me. It has a color uniformity shift from cool whites on the left to warm whites on the right but for me personally it's something I forgot about after a couple of days. I stopped caring. You don't notice it when gaming or watching movies or whatever at all. I'm very impressed overall. The stand is very sturdy and doesn't wiggle and I really like the thin bezels.

@@oledevo thanx choco.. do you have the 24 or 27 inch version. I read the 24 inch one has a lot poorer viewing angles. I found a really good non video review of these monitors on a dutch website. I was thinking about getting the 27 inch version. So far the monitor seems great for the money. Just not the greatest freesync range. Starts at 50 hz. But it turns out the monitor still does good overall. And can't complain about what it is for this kind of money.

If you're on windows you can change the refresh rate to 59,60,75,120 or 144hz so yes you can.

24 inch has a higher pixel density than the 27 inch, which means the 27 inch display will look stretched to an extent. It's not a perfect way to describe it but works for a visual representation. You should be looking for 1440p or above for 27 inch monitors.

The 27 inch has better viewing angles.. but because it is the same amount of pixels on a larger area.. the pixel size is bigger on a 27 inch screen.. Just like most tvs are full hd.. iimagine sitting closer to it.. it will result in you seeing the individual pixels because they are bigger than on a small screen. Overall the 27 inch version has a few advantages over the 24 inch one.. Nvisia certified the 27 inch version with their g-sync compatibility. Both are pretty awesome value for the money.. the 27 inch version also can go further down in brightness , which is useful if you do not want the light to blind you in a dark room. But all in all they are both good value for money.

@@NivramTTV does it work with g-sync ? YES...both the 24 and 27 inch versions work with g-sync.. in that regard , all freesync monitors can be switched on to work with g-sync. But n-vidia tests monitors. and when they themselves give them the approval.. they are g-sync certified by nvidia. in which case the nvidia driver turns on g-sync automatically. Now before i bought the 27g2u. i did not think it would actually get certified. But i installed the latest nvidia driver.. and i hooked up the brand new monitor. And to my surprise, g-sync was turned on already when i went to the settings to turn it on.. Then i started checking the officially supported nvidia list of g-sync compatible monitors.. In that list there was a monitor listed : 27G2G4 . which seems to also be a g2 series aoc monitor. But apparently it has 165 hz ips panel. But the product itself is not found on the AOC website. It is either not released yet.. Or nvidia wrote the wrong model number.. Either way.. The driver picked up on my 27g2u monitor and enabled g-sync by default.. which normally is a sign that nvidia certified the monitor to be g-sync compatible. Mind that before this monitor, i did not have a freesync monitor. so i could not have turned the option on previously.

@@MrMastadox So what you are saying is you have to enable the g-sync in the NVIDIA control panel instead of it just working out of the box. In other words right click the desktop, click on the control panel, go to g-sync and enable it. What I was trying to hint at in my last comment was that this is not much of an advantage if at all, meaning it is still better to go for the 24 inch monitor. Also not every freesync certified monitor can work with g-sync, that is why it is a point in most monitor reviews. Some monitors work with AMD and AMD only to try and get people to buy AMD GPUs, because some NVIDIA users will not get the full experience with some monitors.

Wow I really wanted to see a comparison between these two monitors but this video is just useless. Using a 144Hz Monitor with a HDMI on PS4 defeats the monitors purpose. At least you are aware that you don't know a lot about monitors and kinda got baited with the 1ms marketing strat... Still I believe those two monitors to be a very good choice for PC!

just got the monitor but it doesnt show me g sync option in nvidia control panel, got aoc driver installed monitor is connected with display port and freesync is enabled in monitor option but no option g sync in nvidia control panel is showing up, anyone know how to resolve this?

good job brother, people like to talk sh*t, the point is, there is no good videos with review for casual gaming or console gaming, its just PC 144hz blablabla. would be great if you do more tests with the monitors, like the back light bleed or pixel tests. Do more reviews simple and nice like this one. Cheers. - I am searching for some that i can use for see videos and with my ps4 pro, but just to play Apex Legends and COD. I think i will go for G27g2

FYI 1ms gtg monitors are also a load of bull. You really want to see a comprehensive measurement of a range of transitions to make a solid call.

Better go for 24 inch cause full HD can go max for 24inch size otherwise u gonna see pixels bigger than usual on bigger screen with full HD and it's not great experience. If u really want a bigger screen u need to go with higher resolution monitor like 1440p or higher. Check more about pixel density on resoliutions. For fps games for sure more hz monitors way better and va panels with better response time cause ips are not for gaming actually it's for editing mostly or watching films cause it's best at color accuracy.

Before u buy the monitor check are your PC can run at that same fps value as hz cause u gonna see ghosting. Also u can overclock hz on monitor. Sure it's not fully safe but u can if u look for tutorials.

Короче, говорит мол нифига тут не 1 мс, а 4 мс и пилят по фул прайсу как за 1мс. Но всё равно монитор один фиг ништятский, не супер из-за корявости софта, но и так пойдёт дешманские 144Гц с адаптив сингом, фигли + довольно большой и яркий для работы с фотошопом. Вот только то что там косяки с DisplayPort встречаются вообще не слова не упомянул.
