They are built for that style area they’re made to run shallow water and mud there’s also bigger motors called surface drives they have more hp usually but cant go as shallow

I'm kind of new to long tails and doing research looks like his props falling just short of the wake x in the back would a longer tail be better?

That would be ideal but at higher speeds the wake starts so far back so it’s not realistic. The longer the shaft the more of a hassle it is but you gain more speed because the prop is at a flatter angle in the water

What kind of hull do you have this motor on.It is cool you can stay on plane with the propller on the surface.

It’s most likely a flat bottom boat mainly used for duck hunting will run shallow and over fallen trees without puncturing the hull
