Southeast Asia has a TON of desserts based around coconut. Same with Sri Lanka. Would highly suggest visiting those for your coconut milk dessert fixes

Paused the video to scroll down and comment the same thing lol I can understand limiting that statement to East Asia but Southeast Asia is FILLED with countless varieties of coconut desserts. Hell, South Asia has amazing varieties as well. When she said that, I was like "Holup-"

@@OwlofMinerva definitely! Completely forgot tons of South Asian countries also grow/use coconut in a lot of foods :)

Yeah exactly. Cause coconut is a tropical fruit and it perfectly suits the climate for so many Asian countries - especially those in the south and southeast region. Just because it’s not as common in Korea doesn’t mean it’s the same elsewhere in Asia lol

I’m pretty sure you get a LOT of coconut desserts in Asia. I’m Indian (south asian) and I can probably think of a whole bunch just off the top of my head. I bet southeast asia has so many desserts with coconut & coconut flavors because it’s a tropical fruit and it would suit the climates of those countries.

Exactly my favourite two dishes as an Indian Bengali (East Indian) are Narkel Nadu (coconut balls) and Patishapta with coconut filling😅 Asians just love that coconut near the tropics.

As someone with old ears I really appreciate you narrating clear and putting the CC on the screen. ❤ so many folks forget that we all don't hear well and end up watching videos and not knowing what was said half the time cuz CC wasn't working and they didn't add it to the video. ❤ I love watching you travel and have fun. Morning glory is called kangkung in Malay language. Very common throughout SEA. In Malaysia and Singapore we have it Chinese style with garlic and msg with a clear gravy similar to what you have. But a popular style is with sambal belacan, which is sambal with fermented shrimp paste. Absolutely wonderful!

Traditional Chinese Mahua is generally made as hard and crunchy texture like you're eating doritos kind of crunch, and they usually sprinkle with sugar on top right after it comes out from deep fried. It's not really supposed to be a soft bread like western world.

Makes me so happy to see you enjoy Chinese food and calling by their actual Chinese names! Though the first restuarant is a Shanxi(a province in china) noodle place, it seems to have a generic mix of food from all parts of China(Xiaolongbao from shanghai, Guobaorou from the north eastern region.), which is nothing wrong and usually the case for restuarants outside china, but it might result in not the most authentic experience. so really looking forward to see you on a actual food tour someday around Asia❤

If you love coconut dessert, you should definitely go to Malaysia. Almost all of our desserts revolve around coconut milk/shreds Example : cendol, kuih koci, onde onde, pulut durian (durian with sticky rice), sago gula melaka and various types of bubur (bubur cha cha, bubur pulut hitam, puteri mandi) + this isn't a dessert but 'coconut shake' is to die for Also, those skewers remind me of malaysian 'sate' and im also sure that you will love it and their peanut sauce
