Interesting, I have had the Uni-T 1010A for a couple of years and except for the logo the MPM-1010 is exactly the same. I think I paid around $140.00 USD including shipping. Even the 2017 date and code on the circuit board and the wire management are the same. Just an FYI the MCU is a STM8L151c6 and has ports for USART, IC2, and SPI. I did follow the traces for the USART up to the area you were expecting for the RS232 connection and I think you are correct. As you mentioned it probably needs a converter IC and maybe the missing optocoupler to the right might be needed. I really like that they opto-isolated and even have high voltage slots in the PC Board. Seem to be well designed and built. I was hoping I could easily add the RS232 but looks a bit more complicated. I also really like the separate power connections for the power meter and the load. I use it with an isolation transformer and autotransformer (BK 1655A) for a variable AC bench supply and it works great. Thanks for posting Tony.

Thank you John, for opening yours and do a compare, yes i totally agree, it is nicely build and a pity about the serial, maybe someone with the serial option can make a picture and share it with us.

I can only imagine the nest of power boards being needed behind for all of your measuring equipment. Any chance you can show us what it looks like? 10/10 for this vid

That looks all a bit less nice :)) in this video you get a little better idea about that: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fZyKlcxnp5rSooU.html its only a very short peak ate the back.. Maybe time for a new Lab-tour.

@@TonyAlbus A little investigation revealed that the 5V buzzer (TMB12A05) on the board was intermittently failing. I remain very satisfied with this device... Thank you Tony...

Really strange I was just making a video about power measurement using my old Feedback EW604. Your new electronic meter looks very good. I had a look in the ELESHOP and thought they have some great test equipment at good prices.

Thanks Chris! Great i like to see that EW604 .. don't tell me that watching each others channel also risks you sync cycles ...LOL

Hi Tony, it looks like the load has no safety earth connection when you use a standard schuko plug connected to the universal load socket in the center. You may have to use a US earthed plug (3 prongs) and make a conversion cable with a schuko socket to get a safety earth for your load. Noting that standard US plugs and cables may not be rated for 230V AC.

Hi Win, yes you are correct, i am using the DCUU myself and that is banana terminals in the back and i just connected the earth from the source connection and added the USB for reporting...i think this meter is more for temporary testing than a fixed installation .. checkout my video about the DCUU.

Hi Tony, nice video and nice power meter! Since the german energy costs are exploding due to our new official governmental green „world-temperature-in50-years-regulator-religion“ I‘m hunting for all devices their power consumptions. Keep us informed if you find the rs232/usb solution for the device! btw: I‘m so happy that I do not have the space around my bench for all the big, heavy boat anchors you can collect! I have to reduce myself to small, up to date equipment!
