It's so very typically Chinese manufacturing. Instead of making things that work and have regular samples quality controlled, they just react to change the design when customers complain. Well, sometimes! I think this shows the product hasn't been meaningfully improved, but that people who want cheap things will keep buying them. It is a shame, because it could be good for the same or only slightly higher price. They've certainly lost me as a potential customer.

Sometimes you do find nice things, so i keep trying, i am just not buying at BangUgood anymore. If a product is Bad and its easy to get a refund. i am willing to try. BangUgood has proved itself over de last years to have very Bad customer service i do NOT recomment. Most Ali Express stores do have good service.

Nice compare! For hobby the 87 V is just a bit too much of an investment I think. Though the Post Apocalyptic Inventor made me still want one secretly... (vs BigClive's opinion on Fluke, who wins?) The Brymens perform very well, but are maybe harder to find second hand now they got so much good press.

Thank you! , Yes somehow, the Fluke you find a lot second hand, the Brymen they just keep and never sell. i must say the Brymen feels great when you hold it. the 869s is great with all the digits, but it is a bit big, the accuracy is amazing though.

@@TonyAlbus portability is also a factor when one has to carry or travel with those things. Was looking into portable DMMs and chose a small pen style Kyoritsu. Way less digits and guess not that accurate but good enough for what I need it for. Also weird thing I noticed that the tiniest and cheapest pocket Fluke is not for sale officially in EU. I can only speculate why not, but availability here is also reason why I went for the Kyoritsu.

@@TonyAlbus The DMM6500 is really a different beast than all the Teledyne/Keysight inspired meters. It is fast as you already know, and especially when you are busy with resistances it is a joy that within a fingersnap the range switches from any range to any range. Because of the fast update rate it allows you to see weird behavior better, and if you don't like that, you can do actually something I haven't seen before in other meters which is taking a moving average. In Keysight derived meters you can only put statistics on screen, but these only reset when you deliberately clear the buffer. With the DMM6500 you can just take the average of the past 50 values or whatever you want. Also it can do continuity testing with any limits, but also in reverse (so beep above limit instead of the other way around). Also, the beep will have a minimum length, which is another smart feature. Once you have worked with the joy of such an update rate, you never want to go back, and I think even at 1600+ it is a good deal for what you get. The only gripes with the DMM6500 are for me the max ohm range is 100 MEG, and the current inputs have crazy high resistance (I think 12k for the lowest current range).

Hi Steve, not all GPSDO use the Ublox , but most GPS receivers have serial output to send NMEA out. It is not always RS232, can be also RS422, Tsip or just TTL, for most are converters available, but first you need to find out what receiver you are dealing with and then start looking for internet information from there. The speed of 5/s doesn't look like a 5/s refresh rate, it’s implemented strangely instead of showing NPLC. The front panel design is quite unconventional; most multimeters use a design similar to Keysight. It has the same reference voltage source as the Siglent, which is much cheaper at least in Poland and has somewhat similar accuracy over 1 year (depending of the range) also Siglent has more counts. I considered GWinstek once, but I chose the Siglent and I am very very happy with it. I wonder if it has the option for user calibration.

Hi! I own a Brymen 869s but today I just ordered a Uni-T UT61E+ meter (74 euros discounted on aliexpress) as a more handy meter, because yes, the Brymen is obviously a much more "serious" and precise multimeter, BUT it's very heavy, very big, it's rather slow in the autorange mode, and lacks a proper auto-hold function, and its selector knob is very hard to turn. For my normal use (small power electronics), I don't need that precision and neither I need high voltage protection features. Rather, I need a lighter, smaller and faster multimeter. I won't give away the Brymen, but I think I will end up using the cheap Uni-T much often than the Brymen. I noticed that the UT61E+ has a rather useless transistor HFE measuring function instead a more useful temperature measuring function, and that the NCV is pretty useless, but who cares... In the end, 99% of the uses of a multimeter in small power electronics are DC voltage measurement to the tenth of a volt, checking continuity and measuring resistence to 5% accuracy or worse...
@TonyAlbus
@TonyAlbus 6 күн бұрын
Yes sometimes you find the solution that works for you in two devices and not only one exspensive one. its works different for everyone. in the end you need to find out what works best your you... after a while you know what you are regularly using and what not.
