When you have the headlamp lenses reconditioned, look into getting Lamin-X lens protectors. You can get ready to install kits already cut to fit whatever vehicle you have. Engineered for use in Alaska where not all roads are paved they prevent chipping/scratching of the lenses and also keep the lenses from turning yellow because the original UV coating cracks over time....

I have an 07 Mercury Grand Marquis fully loaded with every option including the handling and performance package (the last year it was offered) The car is damn fast and gets great mileage. Only has 70K and has been problem free, literally nothing ever breaks. I love the full-size RWD Fords! Oh yeah, and the sound of that 4.6L with the dual exhaust at full throttle is VERY addictive!!!!

I bought a silver 2004 2 years ago for $3,000. A customer came into my auto parts store trying to ready it for sale because his mom was too old to drive. It sat in the garage for a year and needed a battery, wipers, etc. It rode great but needed shocks/struts. I went through and replaced everything questionable all the way down to a driver door hinge, auto dimming mirror that had pooled, all the suspension bits. Through RockAuto, the hard parts cost around $600 and I do my own labor. I have a flawless, garaged, perfect 2004 Signature for less than $4K with only 111K miles.

I bought a fully loaded 2003 lincoln town car with 169,000 miles on it and the car drives like it was made yesterday and literally feels like a new car. In the back seat, there still exists a "new car smell" and the engine and all other components are in working order. One of the first things I did after buying the car was cleaning out all the water drain pipes and resealing the fresh air intake under the front cowl using frostking weather sealant and there have been no leaks since. The car battery was weak so I replaced it, cleaned the terminals, and for preventative maintenance also changed the alternator. Other than that, all components are in working order. Their is some cracks on the rear bumper and a slight dent on the fender but I plan on fixing that alongside a new paint job one of these day. I also plan on refinishing the seats and leather (still in good condition but some wear is seen) as well as maintaining or upgrading any of the other components in the car. I already flushed the transmission which is now clean as can be and plan on flushing the engine next time I change the oil as well as the cooling system. I really do plan on keeping this car for a long time as I have NEVER driven such and old used car that felt so new; The town cars really were in a league of their own.

About 15 months ago a customer of mine came into my auto parts store with his moms 2004 Town Car. It was hard to tell the condition because it was dark already but the inside smelled like leather, No wear or apparent signs of use so I asked a few questions. Turns out it sat in the garage for about a year because she was not comfortable driving anymore. I had him come back the next day so I could see it in the light. WOWWWW!!!! Gorgeous silver with a shale interior. Only 62K miles and only the power operated pedals were broken (There's a replacement gear you can buy to fix) and it needed nothing except general stuff like wipers, change fluids, new battery... Got it for $3200 and just love the quiet ride and disconnected feel from the daily routine of cars that feel like a chore to get from A to B. I do not regret adding this beauty to my car collection.

I love these cars after driving for a Limo Co. I Love my ‘09 Buick Lucerne too, but I missed driving these TCs after the limo co closed. So this past November, I got one of my own! A super lucky gold find from a reseller in NH...I found a GEM survivor!... I found a mint condition ‘05 TC Signature Series (pearl white metallic w/ chrome trimmed rocker panels) ...with ...are you ready?...8,600 original miles! It spent 12 of its 15 years in a storage garage...one owner (senior lady who soon went to a home and stopped driving & her family kept the car in storage in case she drove again...she never did). All it’s life as a TX car, never seen snow, driven in the outskirts of Dallas, never even taken into the city! The rear seat had never been used! The car is such a fresh Time Capsule, it’s an awesome car! Now have almost 14K miles on it doing Private Livery, and a little bit of Uber. Also, I too had a single instance of flooding in the rear floor....got the proper drainage areas tended to as you demo here, and applicable seals replaced (my flooding came from the drivers side dash area from a dried up seal)...I love this car so much it’s so fresh, I’ll have my ‘05 forever! I have it now in NJ, where we do get snow, but this baby still hasn’t seen a flake... I drive my Buick in bad weather & my Lincoln goes under cover....so, if I get my way & pamper it as I do all my vehicles, she will last forever!! ❤️ Thanks for showing off your nice ‘06 here, enjoy!

How has the Buick Lucerne treated you, Interested in buying one but question the reliability.
@clintonscott1202
@clintonscott1202 3 жыл бұрын
@@colunga118 I love the Buick Lucerne. I have had 3 of them, starting with a brand new '07, then briefly in an '08, and current my '09 has been very reliable. The one issue I did have was the fuel pump. A known issue with the vulnerable placement of the relay for the fuel pump within the rear fuse box under the back seat. My '09 gave me trouble with that relay repeatedly blowing. Resolved later using a lower profile substitute relay. No more major troubles since, and the 3.9 liter V6 engine is known to be one of the best motors GM has ever made. Very reliable reputation. I love the exterior and interior styling of the Lucernes also, sharing many inner appointments, control switches, console, steering wheel etc as in the same generation Cadillacs. The Lucerne has an elegant look and feel for it's size. I jokingly call it The Poor Man's Cadillac. The Lucerne model replaced the LeSabre & Park Ave models, and kept the elegant feel. Much more elegant and better built than say it's little sister the Lacrosse. That lower model is no comparison to the Lucerne. My '09 I bought in '15 with 86k miles. After 5 years running it with Uber, I now have 226k miles, and still clean & in great shape and going strong. My only future worry is maybe it's transmission....lots of miles on it now and these transverse mounted tranny's are not known for their longevity...but at 226k miles, so far so good, and I still love my Lucerne. It's getting a rest right now I'm using my Lincoln TC till bad weather comes. Then the TC goes under cover for winter & the Buick goes back into service. Love owning both these cars. Both are Very satisfying.

Great find and certainly a steal of a deal, a lot of these were used as livery vehicles as they were big, comfortable, reliable vehicles with great isolation from road noise. They can go the distance. I think Ford overbuilt these and stopped building them because people held onto them for too long because they were so good. Used body parts are hard to find these days and Lincoln parts are pricey. Nice to see such a fine example in good hands 👍🏽👊🏽

I would highly recommend using frost king weather sealant. It is less messy than gasket sealant and IMO does a better job.

I Just Became A FAN.. I Liked, AND Subscribed... Thank You For Posting This Video.. I Have a 2007 Lincoln Town Car, THESE TOWN CARS have been My Favorite Cars Ever Since My 2 Aunts Had Them Ever Since I was a Kid in the 80's My Town Car Was Giving Me Problems with The Water inside the Floor Boards on the Right hand side Literally Driving me Crazy BUT now after You showed me how to Correct The Problem which i just did and it was clogged with leaves and dirt NOW I'm in Such a Better place with the car Because I was gonna trade it off for that reason.. Other KZfaq videos was being Extra and Dramatic saying you have to take of the Entire Cover and Find a Mechanic to do this and do that and it was Costly.. YOU saved me from going thru Extra Antics. Thank You..

I will is funny because the people we’re trying to charge me 6600 with taxes and tittle and everything when it has 120k I walked out and they we’re blabbing about how they could sell it in Michigan soo i said “ let me know when you have a negotiable price and are actually trying to sell it “ 3 months later I got a call saying the lowest would be 5k I said I have 4600 with me but I want taxes and everything added and they gave in because of the pandemic that’s going on right now lmao

Auto Boss I forgot to ask you, my 03 Town car has had a shudder since I got it. I scanned it, and the torque converter is slipping when it’s desired slip is to be 0. If I push the brake just enough to put the brake lights on it stops. We’re these cars bad for this? I got it from a senior who drove it to Florida every year. I replaced the transmission tail stock housing bushing as it had a lot of wear and the driveshaft was moving up and down. I’m going to do the timing chain tensioners and guides .. as it’s had a start up rattle since I got it.

Sweet car. When I was in college, I bought an old Town Car for $75, for real. Past older owner/shade tree mechanic had used part of a small diameter green garden hose to replace part of the fuel line. Naturally the inside of that garden hose had dissolved/disintegrated into the fuel and screwed everything up in the fuel system. I repaired, and kept the car a few months, but the thing was an absolute gas hog. I ended up giving it to a impoverished relative who was in desperate need of work transportation. True to his poor man mentality, he promptly sold it for good cash money and drank and squandered the proceeds.

Yeah, this car gets about 25 miles to the gallon on the highway and in town about 18. So I have no complaints here Because of how well it was taking care of, honestly.

I own a 98 Corolla bought with low Ks from a family friend. It is in mint condition. Owned it now for 3 years apart from regular services nothing needed. Just had new timing belt fitted at Toyota dealer. Got them to renew the water pump as a preventative measure at the same time. Drives like new.

They really did build these cars to last. I recently bought a '03 that was NOT all that taken care of and almost everything that you pointed out still works on mine as well. Biggest issue with mine is rust, especially in the rear. I made sure to clear the drain hole next to the gas cap but the upper wheel well in that side is getting really close to rusting through. :(

one of the only american cars i would buy. those cars are fords best ever made. primitive, simple, plush and solid. my S500 (2003) is just as clean, and well cared for as that thing is and at 277k miles it shows how well it was cared for. when someone knows how to take care of a car. it shows. have fun with that thing, ive owned 2 crown vics, and both were great.

Having owned about a dozen of these Town Cars, I have found it best to remove the fresh air intake piece and replace the disintegrated gasket under them. On my 2 current Town Cars I had to removed seats and carpet because gallons of water was under the carpet. A lot of work but nice and fresh now.

There's two different styles the style that I have here where it plugs up that little drain and then there's the other style where you can take off the center section and it's got a piece of foam that disintegrates that's not this particular style But that is correct I know a lot of people do that and it's good that you got a fresh smelling car now

I work for a limousine company. We deal mainly with Lincoln town cars. My boss taught me that it is always advantageous to replace that cheap little piece of foam with plumbers putty. Takes a little bit more work but totally isolates the air intake from water seepage.
