樹齢500年超！20年の眠りから覚めた秘蔵っ木をテーブルに！!
きりしま木材”秘蔵”の1枚板をついに、テーブルに仕上げる時がやってきました！！
製作の過程を4回に分けて紹介します！
1回目の今回は挽き直し☆
かつては熊本県のとある神社のご神木としてそびえていた樹齢500年を超える銀杏の大木。
きりしま木材に運ばれてきて製材したのは実に20年前！！
時を経てすっかりすすけた着物を脱ぐと、きめの細かい美しい黄金色の美肌が現れました♪♪

銀杏のまな板は使っていますが、人の高さ程ある幹周りはビックリです!製材して２０年の着物を脱いだ、美しい肌はうっとりしますね!何処ダイニングテーブルになるのですかね～!木は歳月が経つほど素晴らしさを増しますね!霧島木材と一緒ですね!頑張って下さい!

こんなに樹齢のある銀杏。鶴岡八幡宮にあり倒れてしまった公暁が隠れていたという銀杏を思い出します。その銀杏を輪切りにしたテーブルで飲んだのですが、周囲の凹凸が激しく飲みにくかった。あの木の本体はどうなったのだろう。製材されてどなたかの家や店で使われてるのでしょうか。宝だな。

Brilliant machine! Twenty years drying out will twist and bend the slab. The reference plane of the laser makes it easier to set the bandsaw. This method is much quicker than using a thicknesser/planer to do the same job. I`d love to see the next processes and whatever you eventually make. Arigato !

My brother-in-law used to work for Mitsubishi Trucks back in the 70s-2014. He spent a lot of time in Japan and my sister quite often went over too. She would buy different bits of beautiful timber work(furniture) to dress up their house. Maybe some of that timber came from your mill??? Would be a so fantastic if it was , what a small world.
