Foi a primeira copa do mundo que eu assisti, eu tinha 12 anos. O Romário e Bebeto jogaram muito bem. Que saudade dessa copa do mundo, até o Galvão Bueno era empolgante.

I was there; the partying in the parking lot before the match was memorable, and the excitement at the start of the match was electric. Great goals both, right in front of me! Also fun to see Brazil in blue. Have to say though that I did not enjoy being in the dome.

That swedish team was on the same level with Brazil, they really could won that tournament because in the semi-final they played again against Brazil and Brazil won only 1-0 after very hard game.

Agreed that was a very good Swedish team but that semi final game was a different story... Brazil had like 70% possession and many great shots at goal... could have scored 5+ easily. Sweden barely had any chances.

The second game you can consider a miracle Sweden losing for just one goal...Brazil smashed the entire game . Even though that was probably the best Sweden team of the history but you still can't compare with Brazil.

I was there. It was the first and only World Cup game I ever witnessed 'til this day. As a Brazilian and with Romário and Bebeto in the squad I was quite arrogant and confident that Brazil would score at least 4 against Sweeden but in the end, the Wikings were a very tough team to play. I remember I had fun with the sweeds outside the stadium. I still have pictures from that day. Great memories...

EU tava la , in Detroit assistindo esse jogo no estadio, quando o romario fez o gol o estadio foi a locura. Antes e depois do jogo na porta do estadio o preco do copo de Budweiser era 25 cents muinto barbato, tomei todas e curti uma boa com os suecos e brasileiros que estevan la 1994 curti muinto essa copa, as mulheres da suecia que encontrei in Detroit eram gatas demais

Estive em Michigan em 2017 e 2019 e vi o total abandono do Pontiac Silverdome um estádio que marcou época. Hoje após sua demolição está apenas um terreno a céu aberto na cidade de Pontiac.

Yes the 94 Sweden team was one of the strongest from Scandinavia ever: GK - Ravelli: heavily contested before the tournament by Swedish media, since USA ‘94 he is a legend. CB - Patrik Andersson: Malmö FF, Mönchengladbach, Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona. Among the best during 90’s - early 00’s. RB - Roland Nilsson: great attacking, passing and tackling. CM - Schwarz: incredibly hard. PM - Thern: such vision! AM - Brolin: classic player! Box-To-Box - Ingesson: the great work horse, never tired of running! Forwards - Dahlin and Kennet Andersson: straight greatness, both lethal goal scorers! One a poacher, the other a powerful shot and heading! Also Henrik Larsson and Roger Ljung.

Most of the players werent very hyped but had experience for playing for top teams (Brolin, Thern, Schwarz.) or would go on to play for big teams (P.Andersson.). For example Thern played the european final for Benfica as just 21 year old. And replaced Maradona at Napoli. Football was different back then. To be signed by a top club meant more than today since there was max limit on foreigners. And there was more depth when it came to top clubs pre bosman. Top clubs from Netherlands and Portugal could stack their teams with just national team players and 3-4 foreign stars and could be among the best in Europe.

Romarios goal looks like inspiration for Ronaldo’s goal in 2002 vs turkey in the semifinal. A toe poke, not a great shot, but a uneven bouncing effect, more like a shock.

@Fernando Cunha in that match I lost all respect for Rivaldo. A Turkish player shot the ball at him, it hit his leg and he covered his face and fell down in pain. The turk got a red card but Rivaldo should have gotten it for filming.

Taffarel nao era nem sombra do goleiro que fora na Olimpiadas de Seul 88,Copa America 89,Eliminatorias e Copa de 90. Estava mal colocado no gol sueco(sua principal virtude ao lado da frieza).E no jogo das Quartas,contra a Holanda falhou no segundo gol holandes! E so rever os jogos.

E o q tu falou e real, falhou feio na eliminatórias contra a Bolívia, logo depois do pegar um pênalti, teve um recuo d bola contra o Uruguai no Maracanã q ele foi jogar com o pe, quase tomou um frango histórico. A fase não tava boa, mas tinha confiança do time

Taffarel acabou falhando no gol(parece que o Brasil perdeu o jogo,se nao estiver enganado.)e recebeu uma critica severa do comentarista e ex-goleiro Raul Plasmann,ele disse assim:"...goleiro de selecao nao sai do gol de maozinha!!" Foram varias falhas em amistosos,e em Copa(s) America(s),95 e 97 p/ ser mais exato. Foi mais ou menos o que ocorreu com Ronaldinho Gaucho.Atingiu o auge fisico e tecnico,durante um tempo se manteve e depois foi decaindo,mas como tinha(m) feito o nome... No caso de Taffarel foi pior,por causa da posicao que ocupava no campo. Assista(de repente ja assistiu...)o jogo de despedida de Zico do Flamengo.Uma defesa a queima-roupa fora-de-serie que ele realizou que ate hoje nao me sai da cabeca!Foi em 89,no Maracana e eu tinha 13 anos.

Suécia tinha um time muito forte , Brolin e Larson eram craques , e ainda tinha Thomas Ravelli que fez uma copa do mundo incrível . O Brasil tinha uma geração incrível, poderia ter montado uma seleção muito melhor . Nessa época tinham equipes brasileiras que jogavam bem mais que essa seleção , mas enfim , venceu e o resto virou história .

Que pena não ter colocado o FENÔMENO pra jogar ;) quem sabe o que ele poderia ter feito...sempre aqueles cabeças duras e velhacos iguais ao Parreira... si fosse qualquer tecnico europeu teria colocado ele pra jogar naquela copa!!!
