At the end of the day, they're still people. Bullets are just as effective on animals with or without rabies, so I'd assume they'd still work the same on people. And she probably had enough cognition left to also KNOW that's what happened, that she's a carrier and infects anyone around her, because it's probably not the first time it's happened while she's been out there. They could easily make a The 28 Weeks prequel that covers her time out in the world and I'd watch that.

I think that's also a flawed strategy, considering that we've seen the infected break down doors and stuff. Of course, you could reinforce doors, walls and windows of these people's living spaces, but evacuating them to specially prepared shelters isn't totally unreasonable - you'd need those anyway in case that the emergency happens when people are not anywhere near their rooms. But I agree that the way it was implemented and shown in the movie was stupid. It should have been a proper bunker, with working lights, electricity and supplies and no fragile backdoors for infected to get in. And even if one makes it in somehow, at least you'd be able to seal the door shut and not let them escape and swarm the soldiers outside. That and the fact that the only known person carrying the most dangerous virus that the world has ever seen, isn't guarded properly to prevent a janitor from swapping bodily fluids with her. I can still accept that stuff like this could happen in real life. People underestimate issues and plan badly all the time. And of course it was stupid by the father to kiss his wife under these circumstances, but to his credit: he was guilt-ridden, traumatized and had no reason to believe she was anything but a normal survivor. At least I don't remember anyone telling him that she's a carrier, but herself immune to the virus.
@pyro1047
@pyro1047 Жыл бұрын
The dumbest part to me was always, why TF does code red involve turning off all the lights? It's not Afghanistan fighting insurgents, NVGs in a CQB setting against the infected would be a massive disaster. Which doesn't matter anyways since they turn on a bunch of external emergency lights. Turning off the lights literally serves NO purpose except "spooky", and puts them at a massive disadvantage.

28 Months Later has been off and on as a rumored project for many years. The writer & director of 28 Days Later have both indicated they're interested and working on it (it's listed as being in "pre-production" on IMDB) but nothing has been confirmed yet. Neither Danny Boyle (the director) or Alex Garland (the writer) have been particularly busy as of late so maybe something will happen. Their last production together (Sunshine, also in 2007) didn't do particularly well financially so they might be having some trouble getting funding.

Honestly for this franchise, in tone: the first film was a horror movie, the second was a dramatic tragedy. For me, 28 weeks later was such a sad film, tonally; the focus on the desperate and bleak situation for all the characters, and their relationships, really tug at the heart, amidst the very abject horror-- and the deep sadness is what drives this film all the way through, unlike it’s predecessor, which focused on blinding human fear; 28 weeks showcases the effects/collateral human damage of what that blinding human fear will cause.

@@huehue3687 I completely disagree. I feel like this movie is the equivalent of Aliens to Alien.. Changing it up to an Action-Scifi helped change it up, and not simply rehash the same type of story. I think the only real area I feel it lets down is that it skews the infected too close to zombies.. having them more of the "eating people" zombies, instead of just rage infected. Sure some CGI doesn't hold up. But I think it holds up as a solid follow up that doesn't simply hit repeat. Despite not being super involved (due to Sunshine) it seems like the whole creative team was pretty behind this film

Mrs. movies says, “Again, makes no logical sense to me, [you can tell who is and who is not infected,]” yes, and it reminds me of Train To Busan when the people are freaking out that characters might be infected even though they’ve seen how the infection immediately takes over. I think one of the things people didn’t like about the film is how Robert Carlyle is so stealthy-It doesn’t really make sense. The prologue section of the film is pretty great though, raises the film up quite a bit. “People are going to get fired for this organization,” says Mr. Movies. But, if no one was held accountable for the blunder that was the U.S. occupation of Iraq, then it’s likely no one will be fired for the Code Red in the London Green Zone either 🤷🏻‍♀️

He actually did the right thing by running for his life, there's no way he could have saved his wife and being a good husband in that situation would have made him a dead father. He has two children to take care of. Cold, but in that situation it was the smart choice.

I always thought even though he was playing a mad zombie that Robert Carlysle gave an amazing performance. It's as if he was extra mad when it came to his wife and children. As if all his love was replaced by pure hate like Jekyll and Hyde and he hated them more than everything else. The concept is essentialy rabies which in french is called "rage" so it's as if all the dark sentiments inside of us are awakened. So if in other times, he would think of the affection he had for them now he would think about all the things he hated about them like making him weak and the elements of jealousy he may have had for his wife or all the times she annoyed him, etc...

I can excuse the 1 moment from the chopper scene of a mortally wounded infected still running for a bit cause its possible it was just going on pure adrenaline and died not long after, human have done that before where the adrenaline level is so high the body keeps going after all the organs fail till the adrenaline weres off, theres also been cases wear someone decapated while running kept going another 100 yards because after the body stopped receiving signals from the brain it just kept following the last command given till there wasnt enough blood to keep it going
