After that, you should try to learn more about the history of Muslim nations, especially the Rashidun Caliphate. Learning history will help you understand how we have gotten to this point, and what we should do to improve ourselves.

And the Abbasids were the first to introduce bid'ah on a state-level (with the most infamous example being the Mihna period, during which Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal was oppressed). May Allāh have mercy on the sincere Muslims, regardless of who they are. Amīn.

There is a correct version of Islam. If you have a problem, go argue with the hadiths regarding different sects. We are to follow the salaf in goodness (as instructed by the prophet upon whom be peace), not the ottoman empire or any other muslim empire.

If you want these occupied lands back, you must rectify yourself with the same remedy that rectified those who preceded you. The Qur'ān and Sunnah, without any deviance whatsoever. Then you will see conquests like those of the Umayyads return.
