Sorry for getting to you so late. Basically, the speaker (a history graduate) is telling us how the Ottomans actually were. He talked about how the cited hadith about the conqueror of Constantinople (and his army) being great is actually da'if (weak). He also talks about bid'ah and shirk of some people in the Ottoman state, making chain-takfir of the Mamluks, and so on. But the Ottomans lasted for 623 years, so of course a lot of good happened and not every Sultan was the same. He warns us to not romanticize our own history, because many politicians will try to use these feelings of the Muslims for their own benefit. In fact, many politicians have already started implying some support for the Neo-Ottomanists, so be warned! Just for reference: a Neo-Ottomanist is someone who wants to revive the Ottoman empire, and romanticizing history means we are focusing only on the good events and we are ignoring or downplaying the bad events. We need to be careful.

Turks converted to Islam through Sufism in the beginning, so the sympathy to practices that are Shirk is not a surprise. Their manhaj goes back to Ibn Arabi and co whom they praise as their prime teachers. Your so-called historian kindly omitted the fact Turks have been protectors of Islam for more than 1200 years. Even during the Abbasids, the real power lay with the Sultans, who were of Turkish origin. It is only in the last 100 years since the dissolution of the Ottoman at the hands of Najdi fitna the Muslim heartlands passed to the Arabs. In particular the Bedouin Arabs. Who has brought their understanding of Islam to the cities? Pretty much like the Taliban's understanding of Islam to Afghanistan. If you want to defend Najdi fitna go ahead but please do not say it was better than the Ottomans! Islam is not backwards but when country folk try to enforce a perceived correct version this is when all the problems begin.
@aaliyah30372 жыл бұрын
There is a correct version of Islam. If you have a problem, go argue with the hadiths regarding different sects. We are to follow the salaf in goodness (as instructed by the prophet upon whom be peace), not the ottoman empire or any other muslim empire.

Now all the innovators are burning in rage about MIAW. Keep crying and divert the conversation to politics because you know your batil creeds don't line up with the Qur'an and authentic sources.
