We're well into our Unstressable series on Slo Mo where today I have the profound pleasure of sitting down with Jodi Wellman, a luminary in the realm of living fully. You can help our mission by preordering "Unstressable: A Practical Guide to Stress-Free Living" written by me, Mo Gawdat, and Alice Law.
In today's conversation with Jodi, we ventured into the heart of what it means to truly embrace every moment of our existence, guided by Jodi's remarkable journey and the wisdom she's garnered along the way.
Jodi, with her vibrant approach to life, challenges us to confront the finiteness of our time with grace and intentionality. Her work, centered around maximizing the richness of our days, resonates deeply with my own quest for happiness and meaning. We explored the delicate balance between acknowledging our mortality and using that awareness as a catalyst to live more fully, a theme that has touched my life personally and profoundly.
Listen as we discuss:
- Unstressable
- Doing the Math of Living
- Tuning In
- Scheduling vs. Savoring
- Living without Regrets
- Afterlife
- What Brings us Joy
- What should we Care About
- The Joy List
- Society at Large
Jodi's message is a call to action, urging us to not only chase our dreams but to savor the journey along the way. Learn more about it here: @
I left our conversation more inspired than ever to embrace the beauty of the unknown, to appreciate the finite nature of our existence, and to live every day to its fullest. I invite you to continue the conversation with Jodi on her Instagram (@usandmondays/), or LinkedIn (@thousandmondays/).

I don't think Americans understand how good coffee can be. I know Mo is from Egypt, which is very near Ethiopia. And Ethiopian coffee is THE BEST COFFEE you could ever drink. I never liked coffee until I flew on Ethiopian Airlines to go to Ghana. Omg! I sat beside an Ethiopian man, who was just as engaging as Mo is, and he encouraged me to try the coffee. This man's pride in his country left a lasting impression on me.

Really loved this podcast. I liked the idea of a singular mission in life that's present to ourselves not following the dogma of what is the right thing to do. The idea of being authentic, true to ourselves and deciding freely what makes us happy without outside pressure...

I enjoyed this episode however I was really looking forward to you guys getting back to that “list”! Sharing some practical tips on how to get started. For those who unfortunately suffer, it’s amazing the energy that Jodi brings but steps on how to get there would be so helpful. Maybe a link to the 68 questions, or an article on how to do “the joy list”. I was also thinking and hedonistic pleasures in life, and how although we may find joy / fulfilment in the sweet and simple, it then becomes difficult for others around to understand it. How can we close the gap with others?

You are both saying things that are super relevant with me. The story about fake business trips is very helpful, and hearing from someone who shares my belief about the afterlife yet still recognizes purpose...so much great stuff. Thank you. I'm looking forward to the book launch!

I tried to love this. The last/first podcast of yours I've seen was your conversation with Shahroo Izadi. I loved how relaxed it was, how it was a conversation with you both in the room in total flow - I missed this here

Wellman is a turn off. Uninspiring, unhelpful, and unconvincing. Full of enthusiasm, but superficial (a super salesperson). Making the conclusion fit her thinking. Might be OK for some of the highly driven and capable but lacking an overall perspective. Good for her, if she is truly happy and managing stress, but awful presumption about the positions of others to do likewise. Must wonder if her clientele is well heeled. Near death experiences are not all as characterised in the video. Gawdat is clearly relatively well-heeled as well. While that does not mean he cannot give good advice, after this video I must wonder how comprehensive his perspective is. At least Gawdat recognised at the end that they are both live a life of privilege. So, in the end if someone is not successful/satisfied with life, then it is because they chose not to be so … I don’t think so.
