In this video I explore using projection mapping to be able to move my camera in my painted scenes.
As this channel now has 40K subscribers I thought it would be fun to do a Q&A video, so if you sit on any questions you want to ask, please write them in the comments below!
Hope you like the video!

Can you do a tutorial only on texturing,( 2d texture on 3d object)
@postmortem4954
@postmortem4954 4 жыл бұрын
Bro it works the same as using a real life photo of some object (2D photo) and slapping it to a 3D object. Of course you have to know how to UV edit to make it all match. with UV it's not a simple process depending on what you are modeling. Now in this case you are making the 2D photo yourself (Drawing it in photoshop or something), so when your done just save the image as a PNG and import it as a texture in to your scene. It also varies depending on what 3D app you use.

@amit8961 4 жыл бұрын
I guess the simplest uv editor is in blender you just have to select the mesh hit U and select smart uv project then drag n drop the image touv editor and map it
@postmortem4954
@postmortem4954 4 жыл бұрын
@@amit8961 true, that's why I love blender. However UV editing itself is not an easy thing to do for beginners. And it could be harder if you're working on a complex mesh. I would recommend that new people start with blender, but Maya's is still industry standard when it comes to a lot of professional improved features and work flow.

Q&A: Do you think you could do a full-on tutorial for just mapping textures that were made in photoshop and brought over to c4D?

Questions for Q&A: Do you plan to make a full detailed animation course in the near future? (I would buy it) When you shoot video with actors for rotoscoping in 24fps and then convert it to 8-12fps, do you need to overwrite voice? In case if characters talk. How long it took you to make Sensations?

I've used projection mapping a lot but when I saw this come together my jaw genuinely dropped. It suits your style so well and comes out perfectly. While not for the Q&A, I just wanted to ask what size canvas you draw on, as mine tend to seem a bit pixelated. Thank you for the tuts!

OMG! Not sure why I never thought of this! Model > texture > render > paint over > camera project painted THANK YOU! I love that flow. You could use poly selections to restrict the projection on some of the areas it gets weird. Thank you again!

Q&A: Do you make a storyboard before you make your films. And if you do what is your process when you're making your story board? do you go in a lot of details? how much of what you make in your storyboard actually transfer to your films ? i'm tired of making really short videos i want to try to make longer films and animation, just creative videos in general but i have no clue how to visually show my story and because i hear a lot of people talking about storyboard i thought it may be a good way to start

I'm blown away at the depth of work a mere 8-second animation requires, and the fact that you do all of the visual content yourself. All of the output you create is amazing too. I noticed, however, that you primarily use Photoshop for animating rather than Animate. Why? Also, would you suggest it to beginners in animation such as myself?
