This time around, I cover the story of the Saleen Mustang. This car was set to get only a minor role - until it was decided that would be fun to destroy a collectible Mustang.

I traded for it back in 2012 through a dealer in NJ that I think picked it up at auction with just over 18k miles, they couldn’t get it to pass inspection. I got it and the it had been beat on. I replaced the rear with ford racing 3.73 gears alloy USA 31 spine drive shafts, Ford aluminum driveshaft and had Evolution Motorsport in Delaware who got it to pass and dyno’d it at 432hp to the wheels. I since put a 3200 stall stage 2 shift kit, red alto clutch packs, 1 quart larger trans pan and the car runs 10.80-11 in the quarter mile at 126-128 mph. It’s light and it’s fast. Paint did not hold up and has faded, come wheels need to be redone but it still piles on the attention. Now has 28k miles. After talking to Craig, I am probably going to have the paint and wheels done over the next free years, and have a four valve conversion sitting in the garage. We will see how far I get! Take care!

Technically its not a mustang. Its a saleen s281. Pretty sure they say saleen on the title and not ford or mustang. Same with how the 2010 camaro can be made into a trans am and when you pay for the conversion to the trans am the title is also changed. They say 2010 trans am when you get the car back. Even if it did start life as a maro or stang the title is what the law will go by.
