Join me on my 2nd outting to Arizona to hunt Prairie Dog using Airguns (well, SORTA). I am joined by Mason and Hunter1. Mason did incredibly well and rarely missed. His best shot was at 100 yards. Mine was at 190 yards. Both being headshots.
HunterOne also posted his video from this hunt so please take a looksie:

At 10:21 into the video, you can really see the effectiveness of having a larger diameter HP cavity tip and wider rim. Some serious knock down energy there!💪 Thanks again for sharing!

Some very nice long shots, and well done Mason 100 yds head shot. I'm glad to see you are now using a pickup stick.

Yes sir, the pick up stick was a much needed addition to my field "tools". Better than gloves IMO because you waste so many of them and the "grabbers" are just used over and over. I also believe there is a plague scare in AZ somewhere. Thanks for watching

Hi. Do you need a higher twist rate at the barrel for the ballistic tip bullets ???
@KenPWV
@KenPWV 5 жыл бұрын
First off he doesn't have a clue what a ballistic tip bullet is from his repeated comments calling them Federal Ballistic Tips! LOL Ballistic Tips have a polymer pointed tip that upon impact gives you a nice controlled expansion...

I have to ask how much experience you have with firearm bullets and if you have any knowledge of ballistic coefficients? By the way really great shooting and like seeing people get the youth involved! First off you at no time have a Federal Ballistic Tip bullet during this video. Federal Ballistic Tips are characterized usually by a bright colored polymer pointed tip sitting atop a brass bullet for the means of not only enhanced coefficients as the polymer holds shape during storage and upon impact you get a more controlled expansion as the tip mushrooms the bullet. There are very high priced bullets used for specific purposes that use a metal replacement for the Federal polymer tip, and these are also referred to as ballistic tipped rounds though once again you haven't and won't find them being sold to you for air rifle purposes. Just thought if you are going to attempted to educate the viewer you should do your homework as many take what you say for granted and then quite possibly spread inaccuracies... Keep up the great shooting and videos.....

May, 2018....Not a Criticism....I'm not a Hunter, BUT; I know of the damage that Prairie Dogs do !! My concern deals with the power of these Air Rifles vs. a Bullet using Rifle AND the long - distance shots that you take. I think that I can safely assume that the "damage done" to your prey, is LESS than that of what a Bullet might do, at these long range kills. That said, Are you doing all that is possible, to make sure that these animals suffer as little as possible ? I see some of your shots not killing them immediately, and they twist and squirm in the ground. I would hope / expect that a second shot would be used in order to put them out of their misery !! A merciful and responsible method of hunting ...
