It's not only the story of "Brenda" but of a lot more people than we'd think who can't make ends meet, who end up having kids. Life isn't fair a lot of the time, and it's sad, and that's what this song portrays so well.

The song is very true to life. It tells a tale of tragedy, ends abruptly, no ceremony, no looking deeper, and life goes on. It is sad to say it like that, but that is what makes the story that much more deeper. Why is there no outrage? Why no looking further into how this could happen?
