Despite the big controversy years ago, it seems like things worked out for the best especially for Jay Park. He probably wouldn't be as experienced in the music and social scene (in Korea and in general) as he is now if it weren't for his involvement with 2PM. But now that's he's free to do whatever he wants, he's killing it in the hiphop/r&b area and has even established his own recording label and such. He now has full reign of his decisions. We're all very proud of Jay for getting so far despite any setbacks :) I wonder if he ever misses 2PM days though

I believe you 100%. But I wasn't into Kpop back then, so I wouldn't know. I do know though for an example that Kris/Luhan/Tao from EXO was pretty big & Jessica with SNSD, but Jaebum's departure was bigger? I knew 2PM was huge back in the day, didn't know they were that huge though, thanks for the "eye opener" i guess you can call it ;)

+timiniho yeah they were super big if you ever look up videos of Jay leaving at the airport there is many fans crying . the Kris luhan etc wasn't as big because it was cold hearted and fast . like they just disappeared out of nowhere and began promotions as independent right away . didn't really address the fans or like said when they were leaving. with Jay it was a lingering problem like it happened but he was still not gone but then he did leave took him a couple of weeks to leave and then the members did talk about him publicly and open about how sad they were and even other groups just like felt for them and Jay cried too etc . like all those recent ones you mentioned, their excuses were stated but with Jay the real reason why he left was never really stated and it was just so weird because Jay was like an A+ leader like he was this amazing leader who was super close to his members sort of thing. and they got so popular out of thin air. you know like groups didn't get that popular that fast back then . It was just so sad and unusual in K-pop for members to leave then. IDK I still think it will be the saddest because the fans were aknoweldged and they talked about him like at really open situation (here). like man you would never hear exo talk about those who left at an award show lol or anywhere really . The only ones who would talk about their ex members are probably uKiss since they are still old fashioned ish and warm hearted company . but the saddest thing about this whole Jay and 2 pm thing was that after this they never spoke again. like ever. and it's just crazy because they were so close with each other.

SM artist doesn't have as much freedom as other artist, and certainly not chinese ones. Kris never really said something about it & just left yes, that was cold hearted towards the fans, he had all reason to leave though. Luhan on the other hand prepared all the members for it & when he left apologized to the fans. Luhan didn't start promoting right away after leaving, he rested for a good while, as he was obviously not feeling well both physically and mentally in his last months with EXO. EXO members can't really speak too much about it because of SM either.
