Back in the day, I loved it when people said KISS were neo-Nazis because of the lightning bolt S’s in their logo that were similar to the emblems the SS wore. Little did they know that three of the founders of KISS were Jewish.

Drat! You missed the big vocal line on this. "There's a truck ahead, lights staring at my eyes, Oh my God, no time to turn! I gotto laugh cuz I know I'm gonna die. WHY?!" And I can't be the only one who remembers the original album had a massive sound of a car crash the very end of the song. At some point they either took that out or had a different version for the radio or something because at one point the car crash did not appear in the song on radio play. That's probably because people had real car crashes thinking there was an actual crash happening! No lie, a friend of one of my ex's literally crashed his car back in the day at that very moment in the song. He was playing the tape!

@@nanaking9560 The song is unfortunately a true story about Kiss fans who died on the way to a Kiss show in Detroit. The K was also claimed to Knights, with Kiss as the k ights.

I'm glad my formative years were 60's-80's, music was fun and for the most part upbeat. Seems a lot of rock/metal music today is all hopelessness, gloom & doom.

Hi ladies! I just found you today. You ladies are a hoot! I love it. I’m 61 and it seems that people don’t think we listen to anything but elevator music. We got to go to all the best concerts back in the 70’s. I saw Aerosmith, Journey, Foreigner, The Beach Boys, Chicago, Billy Joel, The Temptations, Chaka Kahn, Tower of Power, lots more. I wish I had saved all those T-shirts I bought. Anyway, lots of love from Oregon!!

That was great ladies. I became a KISS fan in "74, with the Dressed To Kill album. I've seen them live, over the years, many times. Including seeing them in August of 2019. They still put on the best live show around. These guys are awesome!

Ah yes Kiss. I call them my Gateway band. Hearing them got me to branch out from whatever mom was listening to (stuff like Country and Michael Bolton) Ironically mom listened to Kiss when she was a teen.

Hey Rockin Granny's, Thank You for sharing this KISS moment with your viewers. I've been a KISS Fan for many many years and I have have seen them 31 time's in concert. The last show that I saw was The End Of The Road Tour at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in March of 2020 right before the Pandemic shut down of the state of California. Keep Rockin' Granny's! I Love Your channel. Oh, and by the way Paul Stanley one said in an interview that KISS stood for " Keep It Simple Stupid " not Knights In Satan's Service. 🤘

KISS had a huge impact on me growing up in the 70s and 80s and on my musical taste in general. Up until today they are one of my favorite bands. And even though I love your approach here I second the opinion that you should have reacted to some older material from back in the days. Detroit Rock City might be an old classic, but the footage is from one of their recent tours with their new lineup, I hope you realize that this spaceman was not Ace Frehley but Tommy Thayer and the Catman was Eric Singer and not Peter Criss. Yes, great show as always and it is for sure that without KISS there would never have been something like Rammstein at least not with all the pyro stage effects, KISS were the innovators of that. I also had heard of this "Kings In Satan's Service" BS back in the days (if I remember it correctly it came from conservative religious groups who made that up) , another thing that comes to my mind is that the original logo is still banned here in Germany because of the two "S" signs that are written as runes and were misused by the Nazis. (you certainly know that the "SS" was Hitler's elite squad in WWII). I actually can relate to the reason why they banned it here, but one also needs to know that both Paul and Gene are Jewish and that Gene lost family members in the concentration camps of the Nazis. To think that they would deliberately use the symbols of that fascist regime that killed parts of their own family is just ridiculous and another hint that art will always be misinterpreted. If I might suggest some "older" bands you should react to, then please react to something by Twisted Sister or W.A.S.P.

My dad is a big Kiss fan my dad has a room with everything KISS. I remember I think it was 1996 he put the makeup on like Gene Simmons and I was lunette the clown and he always liked to scare me as a little kid. I even have a picture in our photo album. Miss the old days.

In Cadillac Michigan we say Kiss stands for is Keep It Simple Stupid. The football team in the 60’s came up with that. Than Kiss at one time came here and landed in a helicopter in the middle of the football field. I never saw kiss them selves in concert but the closest I got was seeing Mr. Speeds Kiss tribute band.

I always heard the acronym as "Knights In Satan's Service" but the "Kids" version is good too, lol. It definitely feeds better into the agenda of all those PMRC type groups who were "out to get" metal music. The irony is they never would "get"metal music.

Grannies, Thank You so much for this retro reaction!! In college I was in a RUSH tribute band but we always opened with Loverboy because you just can't leap into the stratosphere with Geddy Lee's vocals (you have to ascend to it slowly). Anyway, I tried to get the band to consider some KISS as an opening, just so we could do something different. It sounded good in rehearsal but the band voted 4-2 against it. Oh well.

To be honest, I have never been a KISS fan. During those days I was more into Led Zepplin and ZZ Top. I'm not saying they aren't talented, because it's obvious that they are. I just don't like them. There are other bands I don't like and it really blows peoples minds when they learn that fact. People have different taste. Don't be hating.

That's funny, people usually trip out when I tell them I cannot stand Lynyrd Skynyrd. I'm sorry, but their songs are boring! Personally I like Kiss but I also like ZZ Top. I never could get into Zeppelin because while I love the music, I cannot stand Robert Plant's voice. Lol

I took my nephew to his first concert when he was 5....it was Kiss and Aerosmith I also put on Gene Simmons makeup for him when I took him trick or treating. BUt just the makeup, not costumes or crazy hair.

First saw KISS way back in ‘76 on the Destroyer tour from that day I was a fan,sure they aren’t as good as they were(though the Goodbye to 2020 NYE Dubai was spectacular) but what old school band is,would love to see you react to Strutter by them but with original lineup,great reaction 👍🏻

Reminds me of about 25 years ago I saw them in Berlin, Germany in the ''Waldbühne'' amphitheater concert. Sadly the only instruments you could hear were drums and bass; plus it was so overly loud that you couldn't even guess what song they were playing, since you weren't able to hear neither vocals nor the guitars. Honestly and sadly my worst concert experience ever. Especially sad since I was and (despite this bad life-experience) still am a big fan.

Dear grannies,i dont want to ruin this enjoying reaction of you,also because i like Kiss a lot! But since i love your channel,there is someting i want to get of my chest... Nightwish had devastating news today-Marko (mr. Spooky 😉of Nightwish) has anounced his resignment,he is leaving NW 😢😭. I and all fans are so devastated by it. Its such a loss! Im grieving...Marko has meant so much to me. He literely has helped me survive my days and years during my illness for 30 years now. Again,im so sorry if im ruin this reaction video and i appologize to the ones who commented at this reaction of Kiss! Again,i too love Kiss! But dear grannies,i did not know how or where to share this with you. You both feel a bit like my grannies. In another reaction i suggested "Devil and the deep dark ocean" by Nightwish. But after today i so much want to suggest "Endlessness" by NW. Its from the latest album Human : Nature. There are no live shows of it yet and probably wont come 😢. It will mean a lot to me and im sure also for the other NW fans if you are willing to react to this one. As to honour Marko for what he has given us all those years. Greetings to the Netherlands. A fellow reactor of ours, Sonny Von Cleveland, was the first I saw to announce Marco’s departure from NW today. I was very sad to hear this as I’m relatively new to NW. Marco was amazing. I just feel that we all need to wish him well with whatever he chooses to do & keep his great performances in our memories. He’ll be missed & feel bad that this is so upsetting to you. Hopefully we’ll be able to do something by them soon. You take care & keep on rocking babies. It will be OK. I imagine that’s what Marco wants everyone to do too. ✌🏻🎶🖤🤘🏻

Hello! I''ve just found your channel and I'm loving your reactions. You are different from the usual reacts because you talk about your kids, grandkids and life experiences. I'm also discovering many interesting bands that I've never heard before, like Bloodywood and Jinjer. Since you also react to some crack/funny/comedical bands, I really suggest you to react to a brazilian metal band called Massacration. They are from the 90s, but they joke about the heavy metal scene from the 80s. They have songs about the laws you have to obey to be a true metalhead (Metal is the Law) or even straight out crazy lyrics about an evil parrot from hell that yearns for cookies (Evil Papagali). Do not misunderstand: even thought they are a comedical heavy metal band, their skill is real! So you may not understand the whole lyrics and it's not only because of the pronuntiation.
