Holy Potatoes that was the first 4 wheeler I ever rode. We still have 3 of them sitting in my dad's shed. I remember when I was 7 yrs old and went to ride one day and started that bad boy up and put her in reverse to back out of the garage and that unit stuck wide open in reverse what a ride that was
@GratefulEd907

I picture a kid getting on putting it in reverse squeeze the throttle a little to much and when it shot back a bit held on for dear life and accidentally held the throttle wide open. Kids error not the wheeler. But obviously I wasn’t there and have no idea what really happened. LOL

I watch several channels that work on small engines and one thing they all share in common is the troubleshooting carb issues like flooding. I’ve often thought it’d be a great idea to mock up a small hanging tank with fuel or liquid and connect a fuel line to the carb when it’s out of the machine before tear down and after cleaning. This would tell you a lot without having to install and remove the carb in the event your troubleshooting didn’t pan out. You’d find out it’s still leaking, for example, without the headache of having to remove it again.

I have one that my neighbor now uses. It's not in as good as condition as yours. My son had it on an old railroad bed trail and said some horses came by and he stopped to let they by and one got spooked and while trying to get by sat on the front fender area and cracked it. So he says?? They are a beast. I like that they sat close to the ground and weren't tippy. If you got into a bad situation, you could put it into low range, lock in the differential then put it into reverse and back your self out of just about any situation. If I can remember correctly they had something like 21 different gears including reverse. I cut a piece of plywood and secured it over the rear rack so my golden retriever could ride with me. After that she rode with me all the time. The only issue I had was since they sat so low, they bottomed out in the snow real fast and then you were done. Nice catch on your 250 and enjoy it as I'm sure you and your dog will.

Highly underrated four wheelers (early 2000s Suzuki Eigers are great too). Our family atv was a QuadRunner 250 (2wd) and we put it through hell but it just would not quit. They don’t make ‘em like they used to!

my grandfather had the same 4wheeler only it was 2wd. i still have it but i dont use it much as it was his, and i try and keep it just how he had it. these things are indestructible though he worked it to the bone up at the lake. its cool to see this quad on the channel. bring back lots of good memories.

I always wanted one of those since the first time I seen one. It’s all the shifters on the tank that made me want one. I have a burst force 750 which really isn’t in the same class but I would still like one of those. Some of the small Machines are really fun to ride via Timberwolf’s or bayous

New to watching your channel and love the content. Just picked up a 05 Honda Rancher that’s very clean and was well cared for. Makes me wish I kept my early 2000’s 400 EX when I see what they are going for now. Would love to see you do a video tutorial on the main items to check and look for when buying a 4 wheeler used especially an older one. I would like to get something for my son sometime then later and everything I see that would fit him doesn’t run and they all "in my need a carb cleaning” to be perfect per the ad’s.

This is what I have for a 4-wheeler. It was the first ATV my father-in-law bought and when he went to a bigger machine he gave it to me and my wife. It was pretty worn out when we got it with a leaky carb, slipping clutch, and tires that went flat all the time. I was thinking of getting a Honda a couple years ago but decided to just sink some money into the Suzuki instead. I went through the carb, got some new tires, and the clutch fix was just a little adjustment on the side of the transmission. I'm really a Honda guy but you can't beat the transmission on the Suzuki. You have three ranges, you can shift it in and out of four wheel drive, and it has the differential lock option. The reverse is a little clunky to use but at least it has reverse. I use it for cleaning fence lines, cutting fire wood, and just scouting around the property. We have some hilly land so it is nice to put it in four wheel drive, low range and just put-put around the hills.

Had 2 of those in the mid 90s. Very solid machines. Had that 250 and i believe a 300 or 350.👌. have fun, wish I'd have kept them. Way more power than you think and with the gear range selection I'm front of you it's easy to get your power to your wheels. Great find, getting to be rare now, get one in from time to time, love working on them still.

Joe, I have a 1995 and I ended up soaking the airbox to carb tube in hot water to make it more pliable. Was still a PITA to get on but made it a little easier and less worried about splitting it. I too was hoping he was going to show putting it back on. I was like "This should be interesting to see" but he didn't show it.

@joepalooka8269 Жыл бұрын
@@pschroeder79 Yeah I ended up putting it in front of a heater and that worked out for me. I once tried microwave but that didn't end well. Wait! you soaked the plastic air box and not the inlet tube? I'll try the hot water routine next with just the inlet tube . MY goal is NOT to take the skins off to take air box off. thanks for the info
