Last of my three 1981-82 Rangers regular season games posted here.
Not much to say about this one. The Blueshirts mount a nice comeback down three goals at the start of the 3rd period, outshooting the Caps 20-7. Several soft goals by today's standards. No fights, either.
Also has, just for fun, a brief between periods interview with some of the Rangers wives, who were promoting a charity fashion show. All three with classic big 1980s rock star style hairdos.

When I hear Jim's voice it so reminds me of when I was a kid hearing him through my bedroom wall as my Dad was watching the game great memories

I was at this game,also 2 games against the Flyers in March 82. Thank you for this, my memory is clouded by time and what went on in the stairwell in between periods

Espo saw that Carpenter goal and said to himself, "one day I'm going to take over the Rangers and trade a couple of good, young players for that guy."

mike rogers class act met him as a kid bill chadwick use to have a cable acces show on cablevision back in the early 80s called the big whistle it was filmed right up street from me in happauge long island we would go all the time met mike rogers he talked to a bunch of us for half hour after show was over class act and thats coming from islanders fan lol

I missed that show. I do remember a live radio call in show that Jiggs McDonald had on a Long Island rock-n-roll station. Decent show that was ruined due to a lack of the 7 second delay system most call in shows had. Rude kids would call in and insult Jiggs over his weight or worse and it would get through on air!

I checked the Capitals roster and it wasn't bad just very young. Several players that were good scorers and yes it was before they made the big trade with the Canadians.

I used Mobil One for years and would go 5,000 miles, not 25,000. That is nuts!

i know the names of pretty much every goalie that played during this time i never heard of the caps goalie parro . funny how things go looked up his stats he played 60 games this year and was out of league in 2 years same with michelle dion for pens was all star in 1982 and almost single handly ended isles dynasy in 1982 playoffs and he was out of league by 1984 while still in his 20s. also look at parro chest protection you could barely tell he has any protection on different times and in a lot of ways better times

This was the last year the Caps were bad. That summer they quite literally made a franchise saving trade with Montreal for defenseman Langway & Engblom. Plus a rookie Scott Stevens. Net result: about 30 more points in the standings and multiple trips to the playoffs.

@@akapper57 caps had some good teams. Back then. Unfortunately for them they ran into the islanders in 83 84 85. There problem was they didn’t have consistent goaltending. Al Jensen and pat riggin couldn’t get the job done

Sorry, I don't have that one. I know it was taped, and some collectors have it, see hockeyetcvideos.com/1989regseason.html but I don't see it uploaded to any You Tube channels.
