In fact, I use Fidelity and they have some Zero fee Index Funds such as fnilx, fzilx,fzipx, fzrox which I'm currently using for my HSA, but considering using for my IRA accounts (Traditional and Roth) that are populated with individual stocks I took advantage on during the sale period.

Great video. I’m enjoying your information on dividend stocks and ETF’s lately. Keep em coming. SPDV lost 6% over the last 12 months while SPYD gained 0.27%, and NOBL gained over 8%. I like NOBL but way too over priced for me ATM. Hard to compare SPYD to NOBL but I like it. SPDV is a bit young for me, I will probably look at again in a year or two.

I've recently started tailoring my portfolio to dividend kings. But I am a value investor overall. Like to buy dips and hold for drips. So both NOBL and SPDV seem like they'd fit right in and add broader diversification. I have decent steady dividend income and the safety of a quality ETF will be great for volatile times. Thanks for bringing these to our attention Jimmy appreciate it!

Would have liked to see yearly dividend growth. Higher yield now doesn't mean higher yield 10-15 years from now. NOBL may be the best one even if it starts with lowest yield because I think you said they only invest in companies that have increased dividends for 25 straight years. Didn't catch that about the other 2.

@2B_or_not_2B 4 жыл бұрын
Cinque Terra As I see it VOO > SPYD > SPHD (since the inceptions of both SPYD & SPHD) and the differences seem to be their global exposure. VOO is 100% US based while the other two are diversified slightly more globally (SPYD = 87% and SPHD = 84% US based). As the US market is the only one exploding I think it’s safe to assume that that’s where the discrepancy comes from. So within a few years when the global markets come back up there should be some evening out. I personally prefer SPHD for the monthly dividends. I like the income and it allows me to faster deploy the cash back into discounted stocks!

@TheMajorpickle01
@TheMajorpickle01 4 жыл бұрын
This is a bit late but still: There are two types, Distributing and Accumulating. If you only ever want to reinvest dividends into the same ETF it came from, or dividends received are taxed higher than capital gains in your country, then accumulating is the best. If you want to take dividends and distribute them among your portfolio, or dividends received are taxed lower than capital gains, or if you want to take dividends as income, you want Distributing. There are sometimes different fees for management between the two types, but outside of that they basically do the same thing. IMO: Young and passive? Accumulating. Young and active? Distributing. Retired and wanting income? Distributing.

I have curious about Fee. If I buy SPYD today and sell 7 days later, how the fee will be imposed to me? Is it (7/365) *0.12%?
@LearntoInvest
@LearntoInvest 5 жыл бұрын
It's actually a bit trickier than that (and a bit simpler at the same time). So the ETF company takes the fee out of the performance of the fund so we don't actually see (at least not directly) the fee get taken out. So if you bought an ETF for $100 dollars per share and held it for exactly 1 year. Assuming the underlying stocks were up exactly 10%, if the fee was a 1/2%. Well the ETF price would show all that by only showing a current price of $109.50 vs the $110 it should actually be. So if you sold right then you are up 9.5% and although you didn't directly see the fee, you can see it in the performance of the ETF.

Dividends from REIT's are non qualified and therefore taxed at your normal tax rate instead of the 15%/20% for qualified dividends. SPYD would have more non qualified dividends out of this group.

All three pale in comparison to SPHD. It's $41.48 at the time of writing and pays 15 cents per month. It simply trounces the three in this video from a price-to-performance ratio. The only drawback is it has an expense ratio of 0.30, which is still better than NOBL and a hair more expensive than SPDV. The Second best of the bunch is SPYD for it's good payout relative to price and much lower expense ratio of 0.07%. Bottom line, if you reinvest SPHD's monthly dividend, even with the slightly higher expense ratio, it winds up paying 20.9% more than SPYD per quarter.
