I had an email question asking how I did my set up with 2 stereo amplifiers run into 3 speakers. Here's how I utilized an A-300 and an XPA-2 Gen 3 in my TV system. Email questions to: scott@amazingpapa.com www.amazingpapa.com

I have a crazy set up 5 .2 surround set up. I power my mains with an old Denon 3800 105 watts per. I pre out my center and biamp a Yamaha receiver sending 90 watts LR for a total of 180. And I pre out my tears through Denon little brother 2808 with 80 watts per. Why? Because when playing movies loud. The center and rears sound weak on the Denon 3800 alone. I want a separate power amp from Emotiva basx line but can't decide if I get 2,3,4,or 5 channel amp. Any advise?

Would the 5 channel Emotiva amp rated at 95 watts per channel as a seperate sound louder and cleaner than my Denon avr a 105 watts per channel or so it says. This is before avr specs noted ( 2 channels driven scam) where other channels steal from the same power supply at lesser watts.

I would go as powerful as you can afford. My problem is I have never dealt with the new BASX amps (I have seen Youthman review them.) What I can tell you is the A-300 is a very good amp, so I imagine the new line is very good as well. From looking on line I would start with the A3 then consider an A4 if the BASX line interest you (you can never have too many channels, you will use them at some point.) Otherwise I would save up and start with an XPA-3 and grow from there. I bet you would never get rid of that amp.
