It's a visual and skillfully executed routine. The problem I have with it from a spectators viewpoint is appreciating what is supposed to be happening. There is stuff going on which looks magical but what exactly that is without the crutch of a verbal guide is sometimes difficult to pin down!

This brings me back full circle. I’m 51 and started doing magic in my teens. I loved Jay Sankey’s stuff and bought all of his material I could get my hands on. Back in the early days of KZfaq, I posted a video of me performing a few of the tricks I learned from one of his videos (not a tutorial or anything - just me performing them). I gave credit to him in the description and he promptly contacted me to “take down the video of his stuff” or he would have me banned. I gave him tons of money and idolized the guy, and he made me feel like a total tool. I became discouraged and stopped doing magic altogether. But then I would see a Rick Holcomb video come up in the feed and once again, spark my interest enough to dust off the old coins and start again. You have been such an inspiration to learn and develop my skill once again. Luckily I had bought a lot of nice silver coins back in the days when they were much cheaper and easier to find. You are a master teacher and have given me my favorite hobby back. That’s such a gift man. Thanks so much!

Oh My Gosh, thank you Rick for this walk thru on Apex Coins! As one of your new followers and one newbie that is very interested in getting into coin magic, I am stoked when I saw this routine. Learning that you only use 2 coins and bluff the 3rd is genius. After watching some previous videos on the snap edge conceal exercises, those vanishes make great sense even more. The productions back of the "3" coins is perfectly orchestrated to bring it all full circle and home. What a perfect quick 3 coin trick that is easy to follow and understand. I hope I can study the techniques involved to be able to perform this one day! I just had to comment and acknowledge how wonderful this is, and thank you again for posting it with the play by play walk through. You are definitely the best coin artist teacher on KZfaq and your channel is where I'll go to learn💯🤝

Watched that routine 15 times a few days ago. Well thought out. Only nervous about that third coin vanish. I wasn’t 100% sure where the second one went. Or how to do it silently.

How do you warm up your fingers for coin magic, is there something that you start with and progress or something entirely different? Would really want to know the answer to this, thank you!

Una maravilla. Las explicaciones de los pases de monedas son muy superficiales y muy difíciles de seguir. Creo sinceramente que nos perdemos en los falsos depósitos. Que se da por hecho que lo sabemos. Un abrazo y muy agradecido.

Oh, I forgot to ask, is there some advice or instructions on how to 'blacken' replica Morgan dollars? I just think, like most, that they look beautiful with that vintage dark look in contrast with the silver. As they are expensive and hard to find, I will settle for cheap replicas from Amazon or eBay. Thanks for any feedback
@RickHolcombe
@RickHolcombe Жыл бұрын
My advice is don't use replicas, you will always be wishing you had the real thing. Instead, just use Eisenhower dollars and save up the money to get real silver

@@RickHolcombe thanks Rick, I'm just having a hard time finding Eisenhower dollars, I got lucky and found one at my bank but they are so hard to come by. Any thoughts where I can look? There is an antique shop downtown that has a coin guy, maybe I'll go see him.

@@RickHolcombe Disappearance 1st coin → Gesture to throw up. 2nd coin → Gesture to throw up. 3rd coin → Gesture to throw up.
