Part 3. The Ching struggles through undergrowth in part 3 of my walk from source to mouth. I’m going the short (but tricky) distance from Connaught Water to Rangers Road, with the Ching being the border between Essex and the London Borough of Waltham Forest. Rangers Road is new! At least, new in terms of the forest. It was built in the 1880s to provide access to people like, well, me - so we can all enjoy the forest!!
Its an adventure to follow the Ching as it flows away from the path, in its own space, time and undergrowth - some of the shots in this section are idyllic, the sun falling on the small but growing river and glades of grass nearby.
Equipment
The film was shot mostly on a Lumix DMC LX100, with some shots taken from a DJI Mini 2 drone, using Skyreat neutral density filters.
Editing and grading was done with Apple’s Final Cut Pro.
Diagrams and other motion graphics were done in Apple Motion.
