Steph and I got the opportunity to travel north to experience her families deer camp set up, traditions and hunting land. There is something so peaceful about a wood burning stove and minimal cell service!
We are having a blast so far, and we're just getting started.

Awesome vid bro, I can’t even count how many deer I have seen on your channel this season, there is just so many. I’m goin hunting this weekend just south of Big Stone (if that brings some memories of earlier this year) and we got a lot of bucks last year so we’re hoping to again this year, and I’m hoping to get my first deer too so wish me luck.

FUNNY!!!! Our deer camp is in McGrath. Starting with the old uncles when they first opened the Solana State Forest in 1958. Public ground{swamp} has changed so much, now the beaver have pushed us out and we see more wolf tracks than deer. But we still try and this summer the logging cleared a lot of the pines to 200yd empty spaces. Don't know what they will do next year, but it was a good run.

My friend used to have a porta potty with a heater until his wife started hunting. Then he put in a full bathroom with a shower. My dad installed the water pipes for everything and they put an air pump into it so when they left they just blew all the water out of the pipes so they never froze. His dad lived nearby so when he came up he called his dad up and he went over to the cabin and turned everything on for him so it would be ready. Spent many weekends up there going ice fishing with the family.

Im a city boy and one of things I have always wanted to do was go hunting for the very first time. I moved back to Central TX in 2019 from NYC after I retired from the military. I gotta network my way around to at least find someone that can either show me the hunting ways or show me a location that does hunting. at 46, I still want to hunt and harvest the kill. watching videos like this makes me want to go hunting...but again, a city slicker like myself would have that deer in the headlight look when it comes to hunting...

I can relate to all of your actions and feelings when you head to deer camp. I host a deer camp at my property in northern MI. And it's definitely not all about shooting deer it's the family and friends that makes a true deer camp. I just came back from our yearly trip and unfortunately not great on the deer but that keeps the saying alive " always next year" I hope you and your family have a great THANKSGIVING. GO lions!! Lol

The secret to city parking with a trailer is to drop off the person doing the purchasing and have the other person drive around the block. Did that this morning on the capitol square here in Madison, WI while I did some banking...saves on parking.

Love your videos but that is not “the northwoods”. North woods to me is roughly north of a line drawn East/west through Duluth, iron range, superior national forest, etc. thick Big woods, no AG, you can see 30-50 yards max, where the timber wolves out number the deer (unfortunately)
